Everything works fine on my first computer, but when I try to play or create on my other one I am getting some errors.

Opening zelda.exe on my second computer.
First, the game save screen where you select your name is off-color.

Then, once you create your name and press start you get this error:
[[  Error loading 1st.qst:
[[  Internal error occured.
[[  1st.qst

err1-zelda-exe-INTERNAL-ERROR.png
And then when I try to close the zelda.exe window, nothing happens.
I must open Task Manager and force close the program.

Opening zquest.exe on my second computer.
This error appears while trying to load the quest maker:
[[  Loading quest: new quest...
[[  Decrypting...error.
[[  -- press a key --

err2-zquest-exe-ERROR.png
So then I of course press a key, press a million keys, nothing happens.
And once again I must use Task Manager to close the window.

Opening zlaunch.exe on my second computer
Right away, error pops up saying:
[[  Stream write error.
[[  Press OK to ignore and risk data corruption.
[[  Press Cancel to kill the program.

err3-zlaunch-exe-STREAM-WRITE-ERROR.png

So I press OK to go forward.
Typical ZC Launcher window opens.
I select "Launch ZC" to play a new game and once the title screen loads
and I press start to create a new character, the window closes itself.
Selecting "Launch ZQ" has the same decrypting error.
Selecting a save file brings the same stream write error.

Everything works fine on my first computer, so what is it that my
second computer needs in order to run this application?

Did you copy all of the files? There are quite a few files in the folder that are necessary for the program to run.

Yes, everything is fresh off the site.  I extract 2.53.1_Win_Beta_55 onto my desktop.  Works fine on this computer.  My other computer is brand new, when I extract the same folder on that desktop I get the errors I mentioned in my previous post.  There is nothing wrong at all with the documents and files, its my computer.  It's missing something but I don't know what.

Try deleting `zc.cfg` and `zquest.cfg`?

Try deleting `zc.cfg` and `zquest.cfg`?

What are they used for?

. . . try deleting them and see if it helps.
