I'd recommend build 1050. It's not quite out yet though. www.shardstorm.com

Yeah, when we have _L_'s heart refill fix 1050 should be pretty good. Untill then you could try 1024 maybe? That one wasn't bad.

I'd still say hold out for 1050+. Should be good for both quest building and playing with many other fixes/completions. (In theory, that is)

If you happened to really good at hacking into Subversion, you could use build 1049.

Yeah, but it would still be build 1046. icon_razz.gif

Assuming you re-compiled the source, of course.

OK, so now you guys are just showing off! icon_lol.gif

From what I've read of the latest builds, it seems just smaller and smaller things are what are actually getting fixed instead of life ending things. So does that mean you guys are that much closer to completion? If so, cool! If you were to give a % of being done, what would you guess it to be? Don't worry, I won't hold you to it. I'm guessing around 95-98%?

Also, is/was it often that you fix one thing and it causes problems with others? Just wondering how software developement works in that sense.

I doubt it's even close to 95% - 98%.
They still need to finish Large Mode and need to finish implementing some more of ZScript.

At the moment things are going well.

Fixing certain areas of the code can quite easily break other areas, especially when the code you're dealing with is as convoluted as ZC's.

It's up to you really.
There isn't a possibly release date for the next build, it all depends on when the next dev commits their changes, and whether they think it's necessary to compile a build or not at that point.

By 'new one', do you mean b1050? If all the older versions are any indication, I don't think it'll be too long before it's out. I wouldn't be surprised if it was out before the end of next week! ... but I also wouldn't be surprised if it came out in a few weeks. icon_heh.gif

As soon as whomever it is that fixed the crippling heart bug commits it then I'll go ahead and compile a fully optimized release version.
