I've got a few points to make here about my opion on this beta:

Comments:
  • I liked that voice told you what your up against.
  • I liked that you used "Shanghai Alice of Mejii 117" (Hong Meling's theme from Touhou 6) for the tune of the beta.
  • There were numerous gimmics to each floor that I liked.
Critism:
  • Man, save the OHKO enemies for the extra levels. I don't like to see DFW's Deathbos running around in a final level, espcially when they appear RIGHT next to you. That is one big count of "cheap difficulty". You can leave them there; it's your quest. But don't expect me to play the full version if they stay there icon_cry.gif .
  • There are numerous places you can get stuck in, mostly running into locked doors with the other side shut w/o keys.
  • The "reviving enemies" room is glitchy and you have to be reliant on luck to get through.
  • Why start with just three hearts out of 16. Again, you can leave it in.
I rate this final level as 5/10. Just too hard with numerous bugs running around, but with good screen design, gimmics, music and remarks. Good for a first quest, though.

I will be taking your suggestion and save the deathbos for the bonus levels. I was going to have a Touhou song for each floor, but couldn't find enough midis. Could someone tell me how to make ZC play MP3s? I don't know what you are referring to with the door glitch. I tried to make the dungeon fairly linear despite its layout. Can I maybe have a snapshot of where you're running into trouble?

Have you checked VG music recently? There are more Touhou Music there, try putting U.N Owen Was Her (Flandre Scarlet's theme) as the final boss midi, but still not enough to have one on each floor (Extend Ash ~ Hourai Victim would have been perfect for 3F but they don't have it).

I appricate your decsion to throw the Deathbos into extra levels, that evens out the difficulty curve and bring my rating to 8/10. The Zombie-LikeLikes can stay; they can only eat all of your magic, which is nowhere near as bad as geting killed by a Deathbo while at full health in one hit.

So do you have any ideas for a last boss battle, I need to know what idea you have for a final boss for me to suggest anything (and don't use the 'Hyper Link' for heaven's sake!).

If you are wondering why I knew about Hyper Link, I looked into ZQuest and went through all of the enemies and items.

I already have the boss battle planned out. In theory, it will probably bring your rating up by at least one point, but then again, it will be fully custom and I'm not the best sprite artist. Rest assured that Hyper Link will not be the final boss, nor will I likely include him or the items he drops anywhere. He was mainly just something I put in to amuse myself. I'm currently working on the first stage of the final boss battle, and I believe it will be unlike any custom boss made in ZC so far. I may use UN Owen Was Her for the final boss music, but that song was kinda ruined for me by McRolled...Also, I do not plan on releasing any more info, so I guess this thread is dead unless someone finds a bug...

I guess this isn't that important, but could someone change the topic title to Link's Quest for the Hookshot and remove the poll since I'm no longer unsure if I'm going to finish this quest and the title is misleading? (IDK if godly mod powers let you do this, but I thought I'd ask)

Hey Poke... kinda new here and I'm not sure if this is still a project your working on, but I did find something, that I will be posting as a video up soon...
ummm let's just say I found an error message early in the game and I don't know if it was supposed to be there or not....

Oh hey, this thread again...so yeah LQftH was completed somewhere back in 2010 and I was very sure this thread was very much dead, but it appears the pesky link in my signature that I forgot to change has led to some confusion and so once more it rears its ugly head...

That isn't a bug. It was a joke I put in intentionally, although it would be hilarious if there was an actual glitch in the glitch area icon_razz.gif.

So to clear up any future confusion
LQftH is finished.
It has been complete for a while now actually...

I believe I neglected to say that in this thread which no doubt would cause confusion...

If someone could lock this thread to prevent future unnecessary revivals, that would be much appreciated.
