Voted for Jared. I felt like Avataro's was close second, the only thing that bugs me are the blue mountains. I've never been a fan of "frozen" mountains. Also why were they outlined? I don't like that to be honest. Mao10's was fine and dandy, but I can't stand wacky coloured dungeons and princesses (and jpg formats), it looks nice for a classic dungeon regardless, freeform dungeons are needed in classic, but it's not contest material at this rate.

Avataro - I'm really a sucker for when people use Classic in creative and attractive ways, and this is definitely it. It's gorgeous, pleasing to look at, and just overall lovely. I like it a lot.
Jared - It's got a good, attractive composition, I think your only weakness is lack of content. What's there is good, there's just not a lot to look at unfortunately, which is a shame.
mao10 - I mentioned I'm a sucker for Classic done creatively, and this is where you excelled. I've never seen such a creative design like this in a contest, all done in Classic. It's modern with an old coat of paint. Honestly I really want to play this. You've got my vote.

This is a very hard choice for me... but I'll go for Avataro at the end. It's got the lovely winter/Christmas feel and it's very jolly!

Avataro wins my vote. Jared's map is pretty lacking and looks more like a dungeon than an overworld. Mayo's is very well-structured but lacks appeal to me.

Can you please explain yourself?

I assume he means the transitions between screens having doors rather than paths and the boxed in feel of each part, which is awkward when shown as a map but immersive on the actual monitor screen. I love it. I still haven't decided which I'm voting for, but I've ruled out the Christian Holiday one, which is also a nice map. do the other two have demos?
this is too close in my mind, so I didn't look at map of the year yet.

Avataro: The Christmas-y feel of this map is great. Your color palette is nice and I like the way the green trees pop out against the white and blue.
Jared: It's small, but is packed with unique detail and charm. I love the little streetlamps and the overall tileset you're using. The path tiles look a little odd to me when used as a path. They strike me more as texture, and it seems a little odd to me when they're used to lead to places like a path.
mao10: A nice, big maze of a classic dungeon! I love the use of empty space in the background to provide a dark feel. It looks really awesome, and there's nothing really wrong with it, but in this case I ended up voting for the nicer looking tileset. I guess I'm just shallow.
My vote goes to Jared, but great job to all three of you.

I voted for mao10. I hope his map starts a new trend in classic quests.
I hope you have a bonus dungeon in your quest, mao10. Your dungeons look like they would be interesting places to explore.
