Ask Me Anything: TRIFORCE Edition

Felt this could potentially be fun and interesting. I don't exactly expect much coming out of this with the forum activity as of late. But I'll try to answer all questions as spoiler free but as insightful as possible.

I'd also encourage other quest designers to do something like this too as it is a neat little way to stay connected to our fanbase and maybe learn a few things we could improve on our upcoming work.

Will you be releasing the scripts once you're done, like ywkls with Destiny of the Oracles?

Since I don't make my own scripts, I mainly get by with database scripts and getting help from Moosh and others. So releasing them is entirely on Moosh (and others who back this project like Avataro and Dimentio with their own contributions). Some of the scripts he's made for this quest has already been added to the database.

What is the best thing about TRIFORCE?

There is no one best thing, so I'll list a few:

  • Overworld and style that pioneered a lot of the modern classic screens you see nowadays, such as Moosh's update to LQftH2, and a lot of the screens you see in 1 screen massacre. However, it's been also stated that none of these attempts was able to exactly capture TRIFORCE's level of depth. (This is not to boast, or make this quest seem superior in any way, I'm just referencing somebody else's claim)
  • Dungeon design heavily inspired from what I've learned from Isle of Rebirth and Forbidden City. But very consistent with my own unique style of dungeon design that separates this quest from the quests it takes inspiration from.
  • A very unique antagonist who takes inspiration from Ravio from ALBW, and Gary from Pokemon (and a tad bit of Kefka from FF6 too), but provides a lot more than just being a carbon copy. He looks like Link, but he is very different from Link. He's a character that will drive the plot in many different ways and features a fully developed character arc.
  • A very unique story and setting, taking place in a world familiar to Hyrule, but very very different from Hyrule in many ways. The world you explore hides a subtle grim and mildly chaotic tone under what appears to be your typical happy Zelda setting, and it's designed in a way to contrast itself from Hyrule (kinda like Termina in a way). This contrast is very much identical to how the antagonist is designed to be contrasted from Link and is the very point of these design choices.
  • Many of the mid game items are designed to work with and compliment each other. This is something that's better being experienced than have explained to you.

So, a lot of the "original player characters" in ZC? :P

Kinda, except I'm referring to the antagonist who shares a very similar look to Link, not a player character.

You may have mentioned this on another thread related to your other quests, but will there be a Temple of Cole-esque dungeon somewhere?

Why are you making so many "small scripts request" threads when you've scripted so much already?
