Not a request list, but rather an open forum to toss around those ideas you'd love to see but don't have the time/know-how/gumption to do yourself.  And perhaps build off of each other?  If you post it here and someone uses the idea in an actual quest, don't get sore about it.  You can get crazy if you want, but remember what this little engine is and is not.

Here's a couple to get us started...

1) A Minish Tale: Prologue: Link goes into a room, kills the enemies, breaks the pots, and collects the item.  Then he moves a block to open a door and leaves.  We've seen this a billion times.  Now enters OUR hero- a little Minish.  His task?  Repair the pots, revive the enemies, restock the room- all before Link shows up again.  Think of it as a minigame.  As the game progresses, our Minish hero is granted more difficult rooms to restore in harder parts of a given dungeon.  Reviving tougher enemies might require more work.  Forging new items to tuck away in pots, grass, and in enemies pockets might take time/effort/some sort of collectable.

Now I'm torn by the execution of this idea- do we control a tiny little speck on single screens, or do we expand our view to Minish size, so that each 'room' becomes a dungeon layout of it's own?

2) Paper Zelda: perhaps a new tileset incorporating tiles reminiscent of 2D Link from Link Between Worlds, or the spectacular glass-window artwork from other games.  Or maybe a style more like the animation in BoTW history scenes?  New effects like Torn Edges, Soggy Edges, Creases and Folds, and the like might come into play.  Tape might be a useful item.  Use the new tileset to re-invision the 1st Quest, perhaps?

Bonus if you troll us all and make the Candle item that- upon using it for the first time- irrevocably burn the entire overworld (because it's made of PAPER) and cause a perma-death event.

Because that would be hilarious.

The paper idea would be awesome, but I think the reason it worked so well for, say, Paper Mario was because they also had those 3D backgrounds, so the paper characters really popped out. It would be a lot harder to convincingly pull that off in 2D, but if some one can do it, kudos to them.

We also have a large thread for ZC hopes, and dreams, and ideas and all that.

I think Paper Zelda could be done. It's all about learning the persepective and where to put colors. I imagine it's difficult, but if it's all about making backgrounds and paper characters with colors, it should be possible.

I don't think Paper Zelda would work since you have up and down movement as well as left and right. So even if you manage to create the paper flip effect when a sprite changes direction it would still look weird for up and down sprites because their whole design changes on the "other side". And it would just look plain weird to do it like Zelda 1's Octorocks.

LOL, it would be fun if they were just a 1 pixel line when moving north/south (that could neither deal nor take damage). Could make for some very interesting combat scenarios, sudden escape routes through N/S enemies when you're surrounded, and surprise attacks when they switch to horizontal movement. I think there's some really cool potential there.
