.blk seems to be a proprietary format?
Yes I believe so. I first encountered the format in the game Gothic 2. I made a custom video cut scene. The rad video tool to convert .avi to .bik, or vise versa.

I don't so much as wish to ponder what would be required to allow video playback from MPEG1/2 format files in ZC. Sorry, don't want to think about it.
lol, I figure its something ridiculous......
maybe convert a avi to bik and see the size difference. Because, I believe the bik format is butter compressed for gaming it has been around for quite some time.
check out their wiki

This sounds cool and I remember asking about pre-rendered cuteness back in the 2.10 days when it was surely impossible.
I honestly still don't think it is possible but it would be cool. Only downside is you might get what I call the "FF7 effect" where gameplay and cutscenes look totally different.
Yeah, I am not a too big a fan of that idea, but it seems most plausible right now with a lil ingenuity....
Instead of just giving a boring wordy answer, I made a quest file demonstrating the capabilities of FMV cutscenes in ZC.

Give it a try, poke around in the quest. What my answer would have been should become apparent.
ok will do in a little bit. Edit: ok, thats cool looking scene but, not much room for anything else with how much of the palate it takes up.
thats why I suggested bik videos. read the wiki. lower level encoding
I also doubt it can be done.
Maybe if a script was made that allowed a certain file type to be uploaded to that screen and then put you back in that room. But I don't believe ZScript is to a point where you could do that tbh.
I like to look at it optimistically, my self. But maybe an secondary launcher, sort of like zc, zq launcher but for cut scenes.
