Not yet ready! (corrections must be made)

This was my first Quest with Zelda Classic (started on april 2002 and finished on may 2011). There are several reasons to explain the slowness of this project between 2008 to 2011 : I worked on my other game “The Unknown World” and on other stuffs (website, fanfiction etc.) so I put this game on one side.

At the beginning this game, created on the limited version 1.90, should be a kind of TLOZ NES. With the 1.92 version, the game took an another evolution with the creation of few caverns and ruins. However, the number of dungeons has always been 10. I have planed 2 maps for the overworld but finally I added another one in 2007.

There was 3 differents titles, the last one is a kind of prototype of my second quest “La Terre Secrète” (The Secret World). Nevertheless, “The Unknown World”’s title was older (2003)  because I already wanted to do another game using Pure style. But after 3 attempts I gave up on a project with this style because I wasn’t ready to do that.

“The Secret World” et “The Unknown World” exploit the same idea but the second game will be more elaborated and with a different concept. The goal of the game is to find Princess Zelda and Ganon on a very secret place, a basic story. At the time, I didn’t search to create an elaborated story because I wanted to focus on exploration. It’s a kind of open world where it’s possible to go anywhere on the principal map, the 2 other maps are quite special.

“The Secret World” help me so much to create “The Unknown World”.

Before concluding, I would point out that I will publish this game later because I think there are a lot of bugs. Indeed, I tested this one far less than The “Unknown World”. I must reduce the difficulty too because it’s too hard especially at the beginning but don’t worry I will show the game as soon as possible.

On the contrary of “The Unknown World”, this game is very traditional and pure. I exploit only 2 scripts and one of them is for the title screen.

  • 3 overworld’s maps type TLOZ NES
  • 10 dungeons, the last one is intended for Ganon.
  • 2 villages. They are accessible later in the game (created in 2007).
  • Several caverns (smalls and bigs)
  • Secret areas on almost outdoors.
  • Various places, ruins, castles, etc.

To finish this long presentation, there is some screenshots of places when I already realised :

On the topic of my other quest "The Unknown World", I had mentioned that I made some important corrections on the game a few days ago and I am thinking of doing some more in the next few days. I will try to publish the game in the month of September.

The game is also in French, so it will need an English version one day. Nevertheless, there are far fewer texts to translate and it is much easier.

As for the difficulty, I will leave it for now. If ever the game proved too hard or frustrating, I would take care of reducing the difficulty. The help of betatester is welcome, even if I manage to do this role.
