Dawn To Dusk
By MrMister

-- Fact Sheet --
Name: Dawn To Dusk
ZC Version: 2.10
Quest Version: 0.6 Beta
Release Date: Fall 2009
Tileset: Pure Tileset Xtreme Update (PTUX)
Overworld Size: 8x8 (Small)
Dungeons: 1 (1 Final)
Premise: This is an experimental quest that the player can complete by going to various times of day to get to the final dungeon.
-- Fact Sheet --

This is the first of my many experimental quests to be revealed.
Dawn To Dusk is a simple quest just meant to see how a player reacts to the enviroments when he/she has the power to control the time of day, you will use it to get passed obstacles, simplify ememy patterns, etc. Plus, don't expect this to be a large quest, all my experimental quests will be small, built around a single premise to see how well they work out, and if they can be used in more projects. So please, either way, enjoy Dawn To Dusk when it is released in the coming weeks!

- Storyline -

Sorry, no storyline this time, if there was one, it would probably deal with a dark entity screwing up the times of day. icon_razz.gif

Wow. Giving it a ten, because it's an awesome concept. The fourth screenshot (dusk) is way to light, and the seventh (morning) seems to washed out and not bright and cheery enough. Still, great idea!

Looks awesome! The concept seems a bit similar to Mystical Seed of Courage, but it looks great! Keep up the good work! icon_wink.gif

This looks really interesting, I like the concept. I'm curious though: is it just coincidence that each row of screens flows into one another perfectly, despite them all being identical? Or is that part of how it works?

This is no coincidence, the screens are designed to flow with one another.

Whoa, I didn't even play close enough attention to notice that! Nice! Any particular reason why they're set up like that?

The map is 8x8 with the vertical row being the actual geography while going left or right passes time. You, as the player, will have to use this power to pass obstacles and solve puzzles. The reason they flow is 1) for aesthetics and 2) for gameplay reasons.

Don't expect this game to be long, it is experimental. If the concept works out though and it becomes a success among the community I will consider making a sequel.

What's great about this quest for me as the developer is that I will be able to finish this and Travels in the same time frame. icon_smile.gif
