Edit: That did the trick.  I got the 'bad' ending I think.  Time to play again to get the other two.

You technically don't have to play the whole game again. There's three endings total. On any given playthrough, you can get two of them. The way it works, there's three "moral choices" through the game, and I use those words very loosely, but nonetheless. They are as follows:

1. On the snowy island, do you try to catch Chase, or do you try to catch the metal (or don't make a decision, that also counts against you)
2. In the Subaquarium Magmacone, do you bomb into the machine and take the light from inside, or do you destroy it from the outside?
3. Do you avoid using the Light of the Heavens, or do you use it?

After beating the first phase of Solarite, you hit a branch point. If you've made 0 or 1 "bad" decisions, you're presented with two choices. Jumping in front of the laser gives you the good ending and final boss, attacking Solarite gives you the neutral one. If you've made 2 or 3 "bad" decisions, you get a slightly different scenario. Attacking Solarite gives you the neutral ending, using the Light of the Heavens gives you the bad ending. So no matter what you did, you can always access the neutral ending, and then you can get either the good or bad depending on your choices. I use good and bad loosely cuz they're not strictly good or bad, just different (and frankly, my grasp of morality when I made the quest was... unrefined, shall we say).

I missed what the cheat code was, can you DM it to me?  I vaguely remember but am getting it wrong.

Going off memory, the password (it's the quest password, not the cheat code) is "John1:5".

I guess I got the neutral ending.     Will try for the bad one and then I do need to replay to get the good one, as I didn't make a choice early enough to catch Chase and I did use the Light of the Heavens.

On the next play to get the good ending, since I got neutral and bad already, I seem to have missed the thing that gives Dracus the healing ability.  Where is that again?

I'm not sure which ability you're talking about. The only healing Dracus gets directly is the orbiters, which he receives as part of the main plot. Is there a particular spell on the subscreen you're missing?

It's the one where you can hold B and it converts magic into health.

Oh... right, I completely forgot that existed. It's on the Eastern Atoll. There's a particular screen where you can bomb into a cave.
