This issue happens in any quest that uses solid water (read: water you have to push against to start swimming). If you attempt to start swimming but face away at the last frame, Link will be pushed forward in the direction he's facing as if he's entering the water, but in the opposite direction of where the water is, and he keeps going until he hits the edge of the screen and scrolls over to the next; walking through any walls that might be in his way.

Sounds like Link->Action==LA_HOPPING when it shouldn't

Can confirm this bug. It also happens if you have Link's direction set via script. We have a script that allows for strafing, for instance. If you're facing down and push against water to the right, when LA_HOPPING is set, Link will begin walking in the direction he's facing (DIR_DOWN) and keep going through solid blocks off the screen. The bug then seems to be that LA_HOPPING just moves Link in whatever direction he's facing, ignoring solidity, until he's in the water. This can be done with a frame-perfect input or by setting Link's direction via script.

Check 2.53. I'm sure I fixed that one, but it was after 2.50.2. Might even have been after 2.50.3 RC1.
