Welcome to the next Map of the Month contest! We only have 2 entries this month, here they are:

HeroOfFire

Why are these cliffs a dark gray color? Because brown is overused.

Shane

Hibernal Heights, home to a tower that reaches THE MOON!

Herooffire: i really like the scale of this area and there looks to be many secrets you can find here. The only things that i could see needing a touch up would be the consistency of the pallet and that theres not too much going on visually as a whole of the map for your eyes to enjoy. It might be easy to get lost in considering alot of the screens bleed together and theres not many landmarks to find aside from your pleasent bridge and stair placement. However that might be the purpose of the map considering it looks very mazelike and has a complexity that is hard to make. I do enjoy the soft colors that dont strain my eyes and i do enjoy the placement of cliffs and water and other such obstacles. Against any similar maps i would pick yours since alot of maps you make look amazing and intriguing.

Shane: i always dig the "in the sky" asthetic that high places give. Combining the snow and moon really gives you a sense of depth and drama to the area you've ventured to. I cant really find anything on this one that would trigger my nitpickyness. The flow of these rooms seems pleasing and always makes you think "whats that over there and how do i get to it". The spot in the trees does grab my interest and would drive me insane trying to figure out what it is. This map gets my vote.

Shane's map is small, but I really like the snowy atmosphere. This is getting my vote.

I like the contrast of how we are using the same gameboy style. I'm playing around with palettes of a different style. Shane is making some really nice custom tiles that fit the style.

Oh, but we both did the added alliterative appeal naming. Crystal Cliffs and Hibernal Heights.
