It's that time of year again! Starting on January 1st, 2016, we will be opening up nominations for the 2015 Superlatives. As such, I'd like to post the list of categories, as we've done in the past. This list worked out great I feel last year, but as always, things might be able to be improved. I highly encourage people to take a look at the list and give any feedback they might have. Keep in mind, we would prefer to stick to 20 categories for ZC and 20 for General, so we're looking more for changes than for additions or removals at this time.

Well I've never done Pure ZC superlatives before. These should be interesting!

Hmm... I think that you missed both 'Scripter of the Year', and 'Composer of the year', under the 'Zelda Classic' heading. Now that demos are a hot commodity, 'Demo of the Year' could also be good.

For people, 'Contributor of the Year' might work. Super-Insomniac might work too, for the late night crowd.

You know it's coming lel. I got something up my sleeve this year B)

Either way, I got no complaints with the list, everything looks good to me. I just hope I can get nominated for something this year though lol.

Yes, hello PZC, I'd just like to nominate myself for every single category for the list, yes, even the none-applicable ones. :^)

Quick Question: Are WIP Tilesets that are downloadable and usable allowed for nomination? There's a public tileset that I feel deserves a nomination but it isn't 100% complete.

I believe in the past, the rule is it has to have been submitted to the database in the year of the Superlatives (so 2015 in this case). So as long as it's in the database, I believe it is eligible for nominations.

Ah, alright. So are tilesets that were updated during 2015 allowed? Because I just checked the Tileset database and it appears we have had no actual submitted tilesets that were submitted this year. The closest thing we got is the BSMC Tileset by Jared that was featured at the expo.

Huh... this is an interesting situation then. I don't think that's happened before. Let me hash it out with the rest of the Superlatives staff and see what we come up with. Thanks for bringing it up! :)

It was this way last year, too. The idea is that instead of recognizing a specific person, we'd rather recognize the accomplishments. "Scripter of the Year" is meant to be covered by "Enemy of the Year," "Custom Boss of the Year" and "Custom Item of the Year," while "Composer of the Year" is covered under "Music of the Year." It does sort of overlook more general scripts, but I feel we did the best we could to be inclusive while keeping the number of categories trimmed to a manageable size.
