Hmmm... now that I know a little more about it, I think I may understand how it works. So, what was the problem when you tried to combine the two? Was it that the two animations didn't sync up? If that's the case, I may be able to help you. They key is to have the right animation speeds, but the right number might be hard to figure out, because the way ZQuest calculates them is a little weird. icon_unsettled.gif

So, did that last screenshot actually have any translucent layers in use for the water, or did you replace one of the blues with a transparency color and put it on a layer above the other water type?

Personally, I think it will look best if, in the end, there are no translucent layers, but rather shadows on the water that bely what is beneath the surface.
Yep, that sounds like the way I did it, too... I just haven't tried it with mountains. (Yet?)

Good luck; practice is key. icon_smile.gif
Yeah, that's one reason I think I may prefer opaque water tiles with shadows on the water as a pseudo-translucency... Minish Cap has water that allows them to put anything they want at the water's edge, and it'll be sitting right at where the water touches it, but it won't look like it's actually "floating."

Ok this screen both layers are transparent:
IPB Image

and the problem I am having is when I took a screen shoot( I mean a bunch of s.s.) then ripped the tiles in the slightly edited them , I got this: IPB Image

on the screen is transparent and in the combo list is plain! What I was trying to do is make the tiles look like double layer water tiles but with one layer! But it did not come out looking the same or as good, but they look alright untransparent though!

and as for the cliff/tall grass under combo look in the first shoot in this post and you can see what I did, I think they need a little touching up.

icon_lol.gif Lol, oh Johan, my lovable lapdog... here you go.

Draft title screen. I'll probably make a pixelart version of it to keep consistency with the quest, but it takes so long icon_frown.gif Photoshopping is so easy icon_razz.gif

(p.s. yay for jpegedness icon_razz.gif Photobucket automatically converts bmps into jpgs and I couldn't be bothered changing the format into something else)

(p.p.s. people, don't bother commenting on this shot)

Master NoeL, you are my hero!

You should try to make a quest with your unbeliveable graphics. I know it is hard work but maybe you should do a group quest just like Darkflamewolf and Petoe are doing. icon_wink.gif

Actually, Trimaster, he already has won 2 times in a row. I'm feeling lucky for the next SotW though... I pulled a trump card.

Yeah I entered for next week, but I am not sure if it will when icon_frown.gif cause now that I think about it its kinda boxish, well For the type of screen it is, I have never seen it done but, none the less it is kind of square! So I probably won't win sotw 164. And thanks Trimaster001 that water is what pulled me through this time! icon_razz.gif

I gotta see this trump shot. Hope it's not like a Rev shot where there's no gameplay at all.

It would be amazing for you to win 4 times in a row. You really showed Radien the true power of the DOR set icon_smile.gif.

I am making a quest, though at the moment I need to draw a whole lot of new tiles for the next area, so it's slow.
