Sexy stuff Sheik

I just feel like pointing out that this is mostly Supindahood's and Linkus' work. Supindahood especially sprited more than half of this and he is also the one that's compiling everything into a tileset. Thanks for all the support, everybody.

Thanks for all the kind words!

And yes Shane, I wanted our tileset to be able to do what the regular GB set could - so I recreated a few favorite screens. I weren't going to post those shots anywhere because they were really not by me but Sheik put it up! :P

Here's our palette setup: (Three first rows being overworld-main palette, rest being sprite-main)

How is transparent water in this tileset?

This set looks fantastic, guys. It's clear you put a tremendous amount of effort into each tile, and the palettes are gorgeous. I have a feeling it'll be the next popular tileset to succeed Pure and DoR.

Not at all, as of now. We kinda do have tiles such as weather and overhangs that are meant for transparency but we haven't looked into transparent water yet. I'm not sure it would work (visually, that is), to be honest.

Will there be tiles for custom enemies, like Ganondorf or anything?

I believe (as in I'm not sure) it was me who sketched out the original palette structure (but I did not design the palettes themselves), and transparencies were not on my mind as I did that.

Forest overhangs works, but on some of the palettes you're gonna want to use different colors to get the best results. I would suggest not using transparent water, as A) it would clash with our style and B) we've already got super sexy water. :3 But in all seriousness, using transparent water or not is up to every individual, but I do not believe we are going to have the tiles for it included with the set on launch. Unless one of us gets inspired and decides to do it anyways, but as of right now, yeah, I don't think so.

I mean, eventually that it totally possible. For now, though, we are focusing on the basic enemies. We kind of want to release the tileset as it is now and then keep expanding it.

Well I wish you guys the best of luck.  I hope you take what I said about the water edges into consideration before the finalized version.

P.S.  Look at how many people are in this thread.  Look at it.

Just to add on what Sheik just said, we'd love to have nothing but a 100% custom tileset, which was our original plan. But I don't know if we'll be able to do that. But your comment did give me an idea about  what to do with Ganondorf, so if it works out, you'll see it soon. ;)

If I ever plan to remake Souls of Wisdom (which I probably will due to its mixed reception), I would most certainly use this tileset.

I think this looks extremely well made.  You can tell care and patience was put into this tileset.  There's a couple of things that bother me:

uScC5Me.png

-Where the shallow water meets the water looks far too boxy compared to how smoothly the other edges are defined on land.

Yeah, I thought that design choice really stuck out (badly). I sure hope it's fixed by the release...
