Error: Unable to open file.

As you can see, I properly saved this.  Do I need to re-download a different version?

Can my map be saved if I must replace the app?

I built my map in Alpha (2.55) so maybe I should get Beta (2.53) and try playing on that one instead.

Ten minutes later:

I was right, doesn't work in Alpha but works fine in Beta.  No help needed.  Thanks anyways.

Eh? If a quest was made in 2.55 it shouldn't load in 2.53 at all. Are you sure you don't have the versions mixed up?

Someone has a folder with mismatched zc versions.

That UI also isn't the current ZQuest 2.55 Alpha.

Yes, you are right.  Both downloads were the same but for some reason there was an error that was corrected when I downloaded the application a second time.  Then, once again, there was an error with creating a new registration on the game that won't let me load my map on a second character, yet it works fine on that first one.  Also, game wasn't loading on the start point properly set but for some reason that started working fine today.  Right now I am using the tutorial to learn how to use the RPG maker and so far haven't found answers to why I can walk on the water and how can I change the color sets (CSET) and make my own custom GIFs to be used as combos, etc.  Would be nice to redraw some of the graphics and change the colors of the ones already there.  I also don't like the line of zeros and the magic meter on the game, would like to return that screen section to its original NES form.  Having fun though with this thing.  Can't imagine how excited I would've been to get this RPG maker when I was a kid.  That would've blown my mind but now its old junk and doesn't impress anyone.

Walking on water could be for several reasons. If the water combos aren't solid (the pink box in the combo editor isn't filled), but the quest rule "Link Drowns in Walkable Water" is not checked, then it'll act like... well, walkable ground. Could fix it by either checking that rule or by making the water solid. Changing the csets is pretty simple: just press + or - on the keyboard. Cset 2-4 are the ones you wanna build most stuff in when you're designing areas, as those (plus 9) can be changed with different palettes, where's 0-1, 5-8, and 10-11 are constant across the entire quest (with the exception of 6, which changes with ring items; that's how Link's colors change from green to blue when he buys the blue ring, as an example). The magic meter stuff is slightly more complicated, but hopefully the tutorial gets into subscreen editor stuff. The short version is to go to Quest->Misc->Subscreens, and edit the subscreen; the current minitiles used for the magic meter are set up wrong, but I'm fuzzy on the details off hand.

As far as not being able to load the quest on a second file goes, that is a bit weird, and I'm wondering if it has something to do with the header. If you go to Quest->Header, what does it look like?

Thanks Caelan, I can't find it in the tutorial but there is plenty of mention of changing the cset as though you already know.
