It'll screw with the animation to set it to 4 frame, I think, but it won't fire with 2 frame animation.

Ya, and there's no 2-frame plus firing, right? (Can't check cause I'm in school right now going home on the bus...)

Oh well that's kind of weird, it should have it. Anyway, I hope it works now! :D

try setting it to 4 frame 4 dir + firing

Did you try this? Also make sure to give "Flame" under items/misc, an animation tile. So it doesn't appear blank.

Like I said, it's your E. Animation that's the problem.

Actually, the animation has nothing to do with its firing behavior. The animation just tells the game if it'll use separate sprites for firing. Case in point, Death Knight. It fires, but only uses 4 frame 4 direction animation, because it doesn't use a separate animation for firing.

Ok, maybe it's something to do with the shot type on the second page, then? Cuz otherwise, everything on the page there looks good.

Ok, new problem, the enemy is now breathing fire which is good, but it's only upwards. And it's only over one row of tiles, so it's breathing far enough.

E.Anim is set to "4-frame 4-direction flame"

Go to edit the enemy editor, and click the Data 2 tab then change the shot type to "Breath"

It's already been set to Shot type "Breath." So, I'm not sure if that was the problem.
