I think I need a special item for this? 

Welp, now I fixed that Deku leaf bug by making that switch a button.

You need the level 8 dungeon item for that puzzle.

 

I did it without level 8 item.

I'm also having problems with the Deku Leaf. The air distance is just not enough to get through this room for example:

Am I doing something wrong? Tried mashing and holding B and rebinding, but only get about halfway through. I'm 2.53 too

 

And same problem here:

Yes, those are the rooms I'm stuck at, too.  At least now I know it's not just me.

For the top image, you can't cross the gap with the Deku Leaf - you have to trigger something else in the dungeon so that you can get to the other side.

 

For the bottom image, the room is crossable, but it's tricky... and it's one of the easier Deku Leaf puzzles =x You want to clear out the bats first. You want to jump out of the Deku Leaf tornado and float diagonally left to the fan at the bottom. Also, one other piece of advice: when you spawn the tornado from the Deku Leaf, don't jump into it if it's over a pit.

Well I got it now, the room in second picture was possible, I was just using the leaf wrong I think.

@congo23 after bouncing off the whirlwind give it a little pause before pushing B that's what worked for me I think

[Update] - Hey, that really did work a lot better!  I'm finally through that room and making progress again.

OK, so now that I've got the leaf all sorted out, I'm a bit stuck in the Water Temple.  I'm either one key short, or I should've already found the boomerang.  Should I have that before I enter the temple?

The boomerang is found in the Water Temple. 

If you can find this screen, go in the stairs and keep going to the next screen and you will eventually find the boomerang.

They is a blue tunic in this game. There is no magic shield.

Im at the end of level 7 and still havent found it.  Did I miss it or is it up ahead?
