Overview
This is a tutorial for a line-of-sight radar that activates a warp/secrets if it spots Link. It has many uses, like for stealth sections or creating a beamos-type enemy.

Combo Setup
Create a cycle of combos (i.e. the first cycles to the second, the second to the third, ... the last back to the first) n combos long. Longer cycles will give your radar more precision, though may not be necessary for your setup. In this tutorial I've used 16, which is likely the maximum you'd ever need. My combo table looks like this:

Combos 1-14 are neutral, with 15-16 set to either 'Step->Secrets (Sensitive, Perm/Temp)' or a direct/sensitive warp, depending on whether you want to trigger secrets or a warp.

Screen Setup
Arrange the combos in consecutive lines radiating from the source block, like below. The colour values represent the combo used:

With this setup, I've made the lines in a clockwise direction starting from the south. This will create a radar sweep in an anticlockwise direction starting from the south, shown below (the brightest two values are the trigger zone). Be sure to consider how the player will be navigating Link through the screen when deciding the direction and starting angle of your sweep.

(Note: There are many different patterns you can use with this setup, such as a one-directional linear sweep. I've just gone with a radial sweep here)

Blocking
Once you've constructed the sweep it's simple to block out "safe zones". All you need to do is overwrite the combo cycle combos with normal combos (shown as black squares) in a way that makes sense regarding the radar's line of sight. If Link is standing here he won't trigger the radar.

Visual Cue
If you want to make the beam visible, give combos 15-16 a bright colour. If you want a short trail, have combos 1-4 getting progressively duller.

Alternatively (or in addition to) create an animated combo the same speed/length as your combo cycle of a roaming eye or something to set as the source of the radar beam, so Link can avoid the danger zones without the beam itself needing to be visible.

I kind of get the idea for this, but still not sure 100%...
Can I get more of an example what it does and how it works?

Yeah, I'm not sure I follow, either. More detail is needed.

Okay, picture a rotating eyeball in the center of the screen that Link must slip past.  The bright red section of the diagrams after the first represents its gaze, and acts as a line of pit warps.  The pit warp on screen is set to warp to an identical room with shutters and enemies, with the secret set to return to THIS screen.

In other words, stepping into the eyeball's gaze locks the doors and drops enemies on the player.

Alternatively, the gaze could trigger an eye-beam (in the case of a beamos) that quickly cycles the combos to ones that hurt the player.  It is a no-script means of adding a beamos to your quest.

I'd like to say that this is all kinds of awesome tiered secret goodness here, thank you NoeL for taking the time to explain it with such detail.
