Maybe it's caused by the list of new ZQuest Versions I used, while working on this single quest (my first one).

2.50, 2.55 39 and now 2.55 47 (first trial)
But I never had an error like this before.

I just loaded and tried the version 2.55 Alpha 47.
All rooms with screen message and screen guy "empty" show a mini tile ("8x8" Hylian Shield) that I placed on tile "0" to use it for the Save/Continue Menu.

I don't know why this  happens.

 

I didn't have this Problem in Alpha 39.
Everything else is working fine.
 

 

Hope someone can help me.

That should be tileset specific. Go into the tilepage and find the tile that is the 0 that appears. Make that 0 an invisible tile. Should fix it.

I personally would move that 0 tile somewhere nearby in case I still need it for something.


Basically, the "Empty" guy uses a specific tile. You can probably figure out exactly what tile it is by looking at Help or Info, or whatever it is for the Empty guy.

But if I make Tile "0" a transparent tile, there will be an invisible curser/marker in the Save/Continue Menu

That sounds like a ZC bug. It should be tile 259!

Aye, tile 0 shouldn't be invisible. If a mod could move this to 'ZC Development>>Bug Reports', that'd be wonderful.

I tried almost everything…
Cecked all friendly npc tiles etc.

Nothing changed.

I will continue using 2.55 (39), till I know how to fix this error.

I already thought about clearing the tile which is used for "Abei" (cause I don't use him in the Quest)

and then change all those special rooms data, from screen guy "emtpy" to "Abei".

But I'm not sure if it's a good idea.
...guess NO  :unsure:

Don't keep trying. This is a ZC bug, so it's time for Zoria and I to try. For now just keep using it and pretend it's invisible; it'll be fixed soon enough. Thank you very much for reporting this.

I never thought I will be able to design my own Zelda Quest.
I love ZQuest/Classic soooo much!
...it's an amazing programm.

I just found out, it's more than just displaying wrong tile.
I made Enemy "Empty" completly invisible. ...thought that's a way to handle the graphic bug.
But Screen Guy Empty, spawns a "true" solid (in this case invisible) enemy, centered in the screen,
that Link is runinng against.
With all Attributes of NPC ID "Empty" (Damage etc.)
Set it from "None" to "friendly npc" 1, enabled a 0x0 hitbox…
...but it stills the same result.

Is this happening to others, too?
Or is it only a problem happenig in my personal Quest file?

I'm very confused, but in ZC/ZQ 2.55 (39) everything is still working fine.
That's sad. Because the new features in 2.55 47 look real great.

Can this error be caused be scripts?

At the Moment I can't use it for my game (not even for test playing)

Cause runnig against invisible enemies all the time is just too annoying.

I hope the error isn't caused by own mistakes that might be unfixable…

(I'm a bit afraid  :unsure: )


would it be helpful for you if I load up my quest file, to check this error

I'll look into this in a few days. I was finishing a substantially large feature for Alpha 48 that is nearly done and was unable to work on other aspects of the engine in that time..

 

It is always useful to have the quest file to examine how you set it up.

Alright, I gonna load up my qst.file as soon as I'm home again (in about 2 hours)
...please don't care for my messy tile set.
Have to sort out some early trials, soon.
