Despite the map's palette restrictions, it's intriguing how COLORFUL you can still make a level using the Sanctuary palette.

 

Makes we wish there were more letters in "colorful," but alas...

Got the overworld redesigned aside from the mountains at the top.

Still have to fill out the middle island and mountains with enemies as well.

Played up through level 4.
1 hour. 40 minutes.
4 deaths.

Things I want to do...

Level 2: Remove the eels. They aren't well designed and their color doesn't work. Mix up the colors on the trees and bushes. Other than that, it's nice. Edit map string.

Level 3: Assure there is no quicksand only one tile on the edge of the screen. Put something different where the wallet is. Remove intro string.

 

Level 4: Give a string to the Sisters of Fate.

 

General: Set up Warp Ring.

I mean, if you spelled it the British way (read: the right way), then there'd be an extra u in there. It's a start.

 

Anyway, I've been working on level 9 of my quest. Added a couple minibosses, and have a better plan on how to do the last stretch.

Finished reworking the mountains. I still have a few things left to do technically, but it's basically just creating mini dungeon entrance screens and some editing here and there. And putting enemies in the lake/island and mountain areas.

I mean, it's worked everywhere except the US :P

 

In other news, I've hid magic containers all over my quest, for a total of 8 magic containers (2 of which are given by default). Also, done a little more on level 9.

Made the walls for the upper floor of level 1. Got a gimmick idea for the upper floor of level 1.

Completely rescripted water from the ground up because default ZC water is complete garbage.

Beat Yuurei.

Walled up level 8.

Gotta do some copy/pasting maps so I can have different DMaps for the water levels.

Then I can start doing the technical and visual design more thoroughly.
