It's much more tricky then that really it is so out of the box this game in some places.
The first thing you are told to do is press down button in the intro.
So thats the first rule... Try pressning up in lv 9s continue screen, or in other places, like the house in the town in the North West I guess that works also. I know this is a very strange and stupid idea..

Feed the pigs, I like that I'll try making something cool of it thats really a out of the box thing to do! The pigs was originaly redrawn blobs before the enemy editor. Now everything is very diffrent. Food should work for animals and monsters to lure them.

For the lv 7 Carrazar battle, yes if you say alive long enough Ganon will help you. Thats the only way to defeat the wizard that time. Then you get the extra flavour ending.
For the lv 8 Carrazar battle you need to defeat him fast or he will bring you with him to hell basicly.

Yes, the tombs are completely normal. At least in this game thats how it suppose to work.
There aren't any way to see invisible things except the lens I guess.
I'll implement an amulet if you would like it.

I was able to go to the purgatory via the north west town and gain the final piece of heart I was missing.

In the document that comes with the game, it says that there is an amulet that let you see invisible monster. That's why I was asking about it. I thought I was missing an item.

Serously, that was a great game. I really liked the sound effects and the choice of songs. Don't stop working on it and adding new stuff.

Thats great, so you found everything?! All magic also?! The magic meter should be the same lenght as hearts. Fantastic!
You have even read the documents! Impressive!
You are like the first one I have heard of that got all heart pieces.

Ok so I have even made graphics for the amulet.
But I diden't had enough room so I think I'll skipped
it.
Really I've made so many changes over the years.
It's also a rather big game, so even for me it's hard to keep track of everything.

Glad you liked the music, I've really tried to find songs fitting for the game, and it's hard. I've tried not to pick just the best songs and the most popular ones but songs that fits the feeling of the game at that moment.
A lot I have never heard before, and mostly remixes of the more known ones.

The oldest sound effects are from mid 90's when me and some friends played worms for PC and decided to make the game better by adding our own death screams and so on.

Thanks for playing, and for all encouraging words!
I'll need it at work today standing at the drill machine all day.
I have lots of future plans for development.
There will not be a much larger game but I will only add small areas. Possibly some caves and a bit more of the dwarf world.
Also there will be more hidden things, a better shop system,
Customised items, Better dungeons, more cutsceenes, and a meter or counter for your progress in the game.

Feel free to add things to the list of things you would like to see improved.

I think I found everything. I have restarted a new game and made a png mag of both Hyrule and The Northern Lands. They are screens from the actual game assemble in a 8x16 png map. I can show it to you if desired. I wrote everything that you can find in each screen in a document. Funny, I missed the blue boomerang and 2 heart piece in my new game. Can you remind me where do we find the blue boomerang?

For me, dungeons were too easy, even with respawing enemies. Except in level 8 were the compass was guarded by a death knight. Wow, that was lethal, but funny. When I first heard the women screaming I was hooked.

Adding new stuff like you mention will be very nice. Thank you for this cool and very nice game.

Yes as far as I can see you got it all. Even bombs and everything. Great job!

Yes I do like to see your document and map. It would be great!   :slycool:

The blue boomerang you will get from the elves in the northern forest. It is in a square close to the entrance if you kill all Link look a like guys in that square. I can check which square if you like.

Ok, so I think the enemies may be a bit to weak in this game. It seems like that from comments.

Except for some very fast death knights... I like those fast enemies sometimes.

Was the bosses also easy? And Gleeoks?

Maybe I will add some really special bonus ending stuff later for people that manage to play the game without buying new armor. That would be cool.

I also had an idea for different endings if you have collected different amount of hearts.

No fancy stuff but still...

Also there will be some more powerful enemies in the future for sure, just as an option not some you must kill.

But then again I would like that everyone can finish the game if they collect enough things and spend enough time even if they are "bad" players that aren't fast with the buttons.

Glad somebody liked the mayhem and screams of terror...  :P

It's a good reminder that war is ugly and about the destructive hunger for power.

Well I also like a more realistic and grown up approach to things compered to most Zelda games.

I have the Black Sword now.

Time to wreak havoc on Hyrule!

If I am reading the text file correctly there is an upgrade for the hookshot available somewhere. Am I correct?

That and the level 2 hammer are all I am missing besides 1 magic bar and a few heart pieces and the "Money shot" arrow later.

Still searching all the areas carefully.

Anyone else find this?

Please let me know if it exists.

Thanks!

Answered my own question by going into level 8.

Had a short conversation with a wizard and left with loot.

Missing 1 heart piece and 1 magic bar, still searching. Will tackle 9 once I have all upgrades.

Found the final heart piece; now have 24.

One more magic increase to go.

Maybe Dr. Henke can tell whether I already have full magic. The bar is offset a little but appears the same length as the hearts.

I think I am 100% on items.

This has been a fun quest since the creator made sure there were plenty of "Easter Eggs" to dicover.
I think this should be a legend on PureZC.

Hi Disembodied_Octorock!

Thanks you so much for playing and all your kind words.    :)

I love easter eggs, extras and twists. I want my games to be fun to play, thats the main thing.

You actually played 99h? Thanks a lot! That is the things that makes me continue making quests and it means a lot to me!

As far as I can see you got everything. Thats a 100% run. Very impressive, I know maybe 5 that managed that. Most with some help.

I do belive thats maximum. I did some miss counting way back with the upgrades so its not actually looking full as you say.

I'm currently working on the extended version of Kain.

Its more or less finished and includes much more of everything;

Much more custom graphics, music, easter eggs, story line, enemies and exploration. A lot more of Kains backstory is added.

Multi languge and difficulty settings are added and a some more scripting.

The gameplay is pretty close but much more things to search for and you can use items in a lot of new ways and switch armour and shields. I have tried to implement a lot of things that was suggested and asked for. As well as doing changes and tweeking things that wasn't good in the original.

So I hope you will all like the new extended Kain experience in the end.

I  am definitely looking forward to that. Will area 51 get more features and bosses plus secrets?

Had fun there.

Some minor spoilers below!

Area 51 is reworked. Basicly to fit all new enemies as it is a test area that includes all enemies/bosses in the game.
Its maybe 50 more enemies and bosses now.

In the new version you have to find it to collect all secrets of the game. There is a lot more secrets to find now and meters for it.
But there is no real benefits from finding it. No items or such, same as the original.
So its still only a extra easter egg area, but I will add a new custom octorock boss there for you. 😁

I was away from ZC for a while. Here is the maps and document I made at that time. The Gleeoks were not really easy though. The game could had been a little more hard but I trully enjoyed it.

Thanks a lot!

I'm not always here either as you can tell...

I am currently working on the extended version of Kain, I will give you credits for all that help and support there.

The game has been improved with much more story and I have tried to correct or reworked parts that people find boring or bad.

Basicly everything is extended in all ways to a directors cut experience, wiith lots of enemies, places, specials and secrets added.

It will also add multiple langauges and options for a harder game.

Hopefully it will be done early next year.
