Quests are much than graphics and tricky functions.

One thing, that triggered me most in almost ALL OF MY FAVOURITE GAMES, ever...
...has been music.

Games inspired me to become a musician. (more than most bands ever did)
The genius classic Nintendo composers were legendary.
And even if I will never be good enough, to compare.
...I'll keep following in their footsteps.

There are many genius tracks (MIDI / NSF) in the PureZC databank
...and also a lot of trashy suff (I know) :)
And yes, I am loading up tracks, very often.

I know, there are not enough musical submissions for a "Music of the Week" or "...of the Month" contest.
...but in a year... there could be enough.

If you, PureZC Admins, StaffCrew, Members, etc., consider to realize my idea, I'd suggest to nominate tracks, submitted during the year. If members have uploaded more than one track, within this time, only the best rated of these track will appear in the contest poll.

What do you think about this idea?

Party on!

my heart wants this more than anything; i've realized in the past few years that i want to be a video game composer. i've been studying how 16-bit composers like motoi sakuraba, masato nakamura, hiroki kikuta, etc. compose using the genesis/snes and it's just the coolest thing in the world to me.

however, as much as i would advocate for it, i'm not sure i have the time to partake in a contest like that right now. if i had the time i would enthusiastically participate. if we use your idea of once in a year, or even 6 months, i might actually be able to do it. it would help me actually compose something for once.

At the very least, a "best music" category could be added to the yearly superlatives without much effort.

Always great to hear, that there are poeple, who have the same dreams and hopes!!!

I think, this would make definitly make more sense to begin, with January 2022.
...so everyone has a chance to prepare.

I am a MIDI-only composer...
...never made a NSF track, by now.

I don't know if we'd rather need two categories (MIDI and NSF), for a contest like that.
...but I don't think so.
One contest could involve MIDIs and NSFs, in my opinion.

Yeah, that would be cool.
I hope that someone makes it possible.

I thought about, last night. And I guess this category needs to split into "Best Music in a Quest" and "Best Music in Database".
...Cause not all tracks in the databank are used in questss. But quest also need a music "award"...
...so, yeah....Two categories
