Alright, as many of you probably know, CAPCOM has alot of their games on sale until the 31st. I already picked up Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and was wondering if anyone else is getting any of the games?
Also, side note, how are the Resident Evil games that they have on sale? Would they be worth getting, or is it more of a "good if you are a fan of the series, but not really spectacular otherwise" type thing?

Until the release Another Mega Man Game I will NEVER buy anything from them.  I'll take MM11 or MMX9, even if they don't wanna do MML3.  But not Battle Network, Zero, or ZX.

I've been noticing that Capcom has been stepping up their game recently.

Neat stuff.

Yeah, I'm really enjoying Monster Hunter 4 right now, and I did love Monster Hunter 3, however I haven't played any Resident Evil games for a long time, so I don't know if any of the ones they have in the store are worth getting or not.

Monster Hunter 3 Tri is still probably the best Monster Hunter I've played, 4 Ultimate is pretty good but it still lacks 2 big features I loved in Tri. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is shit though, or at least the Wii U version is.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U) compared to Monster Hunter 3 Tri (Wii):

- Tri lets you PM other people in the same lobby as you regardless of what you're/their doing, even if their out on a quest and you're not, you're both out on a quest or you're both in the lobby. You can read and respond to PM's while out on a quest as well so long as they aren't sent/received via the Private Message interface that is accessed via the menu you open with Start. This feature is missing in 3 Ultimate and 4 Ultimate.

- Tri does not require you to use the Private Message interface accessed from the menu that you open with Start, unless you want to speak to someone that is in another lobby or gateway (you can't message people in another lobby or gateway while on a quest). To accomplish this you simply needed to press Tab on a keyboard, this would prefix your message with /username where username would be the name of a player in your lobby (this prefix did not count towards your message character limit). Private messages received in this manner would appear in the regular chat log in yellow font. This is very handy for discussing with your friends the viability/capabilities of a random player that wants to join you or your group on a quest and you don't want to discuss them in front of them or you want to discuss a topic that isn't suited for public discussion, this also lets you notify a player that recently joined of your status without flooding the lobby chat for those that were already present in the lobby. This feature is missing in 3 Ultimate and 4 Ultimate.

- Tri only let you view lobby messages but the lobby players couldn't see messages sent by those on a quest, unless those on a quest used the PM function mentioned above. I believe 3 Ultimate and 4 Ultimate optionally allow Lobby players to see messages from those on a quest. It's been a few months since I touched 4 Ultimate (Which, again, is a fine game gameplay wise)

- Tri features a Shopping List function. When crafting weapons or armour you can use the Wiimote to point at one or more ingredients of an item you want to make but lack the ingredients for and add the ingredients to a Shopping List,. The Shopping List will track how many of the selected ingredients you'll require for that item and will also associate the ingredient with that item, so you can have multiple instances of the same ingredient in your Shopping List each associated with a different item you want to craft. When you acquire an amount required for any item while out on a quest you'll hear a chime indicating that you now have enough of that ingredient for an item in your Shopping List, if you acquire enough of the ingredient for a more costly item it will chime a again as you reach that threshold (It won't chime to indicate if you have enough for multiple items, just whenever you cross the threshold for a item). You can check your Shopping List, how much of an ingredient you have and how much you need for anything on the Shopping List at any time while out on a quest or in the lobby. This is immensely helpful! I have no clue why 3 Ultimate removed this feature and I don't know why 4 Ultimate doesn't have it either. This feature is missing in 3 Ultimate and 4 Ultimate.

- Tri doesn't drastically diminish the health of Large Monsters on quests that involve multiple Large Monsters, making these quests an actual challenge in the early game, mid game and even the late game. Their a lot of fun and uniquely challenging to survive in Tri. In 3 Ultimate and somewhat in 4 Ultimate the health of all Large Monsters is drastically reduced making for very intense fights that end way too quickly which makes them feel... empty/pointless? It's better balanced for 1 player I guess? But with 2 or more people the monsters in these quests die way, way, waaaay too quickly in 3 Ultimate and 4 Ultimate, it's not a survival/resourcefulness challenge in these Ultimate games.

- Tri has Sub Quests, which 4 Ultimate re-introduced (3 Ultimate removed them). Sub Quests are always awesome, a shame they don't have similar quests to Tri's. Would've been nice to see them add 4 Ultimate's Sub Quests to 3 Tri's Sub Quests in 4 Ultimate, the diversity would've been welcome.

- Tri has significantly superior visuals for almost everything when compared to 3 Ultimate. The only thing 3 Ultimate improved on visually was Monster Shadows, they gave them dynamic shadows instead of blob shadows (Hooray! /sarcasm). All the textures for terrain, objects, foliage, trees and water surfaces look significantly better in 3 Tri than in 3 Ultimate. Water surfaces in 3 Ultimate look like there was a huge oil spill in the water. The graphical draw distance in 3 Tri is better than 3 Ultimate as well (Stuff switched to lower quality textures at much greater distances from the player in Tri).

- Tri has a more consistent frame rate than 3 Ultimate regardless of what is happening on screen, WHILE HAVING BETTER VISUALS AND RUNNING ON AN INFERIOR CONSOLE.

- Tri also has actual dark areas and the fire torches would cast a ring of light around you when held in these areas (Held at the expense of a shield/2H weapon), allowing for monsters to attack from darkness/hide etc. and give a bit of variety to the general gameplay/your approach to situations. The areas weren't pitch dark outside the ring of light, you could still see stuff it was just harder to see. Most/all monsters had some part that glowed in the dark especially giant monsters, Gigginox looked excellent in the dark. In 3 Ultimate there are no such dark areas and when using a Torch in 3 Ultimate the ground gets all glitched up in numerous areas of the game, I don't know why they kept them when they got rid of dark areas, especially without updating them to properly work with the new lighting engine in the game.

- Tri also has a superior minimap. No checkerboard pattern for water, nice large easy to see player markers and the map isn't transparent. Tri's minimap is very easy to observe from a 3 meter distance. 3 Ultimate made the map smaller, transparent and used a checkerboard pattern for water which makes player markers virtually invisible on water. Player markers (But NOT cha-cha, trap and Large Monster markers) are also significantly smaller in Ultimate. It's way too hard for me to read the map or player locations in 3 Ultimate than 3 Tri, unless I don't collect the map at the start of the game and use memorization to get a rough idea of where people are and how to get to them etc.

So yeah, Monster Hunter 3 Tri is my favourite Monster Hunter (doesn't have online support anymore :/ ). Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is a good game but lacks some features that would've made it succeed 3 Tri as my favourite game in the series, and 3 Ultimate (Wii U) is just bad.

Anyone know if this is an annual event or when it happens? I meant to get $5 Resident Evil games for 3DS last time, but just barely missed the date.
