It is possible to implement 50 swings using scripts. But if you don't know anything about writing scripts its going to take a substantial chuck of time and effort on your part. To just get your first script working without anyone else helping you is a huge achievement. So you're going to have to weight the costs/benefits to scripting - it costs a lot but the benefits are astronomical.
As for Isle of Rebirth many of the initial ratings were from people who were in the credits section for various reasons like testing, script building, graphics etc. People involved in making the quest should not be rating it so if you exclude their ratings then it isn't so highly rated anymore. Further, see Lunaria's comment and the number of players who like it. I think that these players who liked it didn't rate the quest because they didn't finish it. It is a mark of respect to quest-makers that you only rate quests that you've finished. But this leads to a catch-22 - are you going to play through a 0 star quest in order to rate it, especially if its a long one?
Don't get me wrong, I think IoR is a very good challenge quest and one I would recommend to any other challenge-lover. But did it get consensus acceptance by those who prefer easy difficulty? Jury is still out on that one.
