I'm currently using a Logitech gamepad that works fine with older versions of ZC, but in the latest build doesn't register at all. Any tricks for this Windows 7 64 user?

You should download Anti Micro which can map controller buttons to Keyboard buttons, at least if ZC refuses to read your controller buttons.

  https://sourceforge....timicro.mirror/

ZC's mostly developed for windows now,  so the Xbox type controller support should be considered mainly, but even ZC does not read a windows based controller button mapping functions completely yet refusing you to edit buttons.

I think this is a new bug.  It's been reported in the dev server Discord.

Thanks, SLG, antimicro totally worked.

Also, be sure to clear away all Controller buttons on ZC Player when using keyboard Anti Micro buttons.

Some may be set already on odd buttons.

Open "allegro5.cfg" in the base directory for Zelda Classic and remove the line

"driver=XINPUT"

which is around line 150.

The issue is that the program is forcing a specific driver for controllers that not all controllers support.  If the config line is deleted it's free to use either driver.  Per the devs, this will be fixed in the next alpha.

2 more questions:

- Some files in this build has russian text. Is that okay or maybe I have a virus ?

- Is it possible to put the F6 function on the gamepad ?

TIL Russian text = virus

If you want to assign F6 to a gamepad, you would need something like Antimicro.

https://joytokey.net/en/

by default, most directional pads are mapped to camera panning as far as windows goes. It is possible to remap that to the directional arrows using something like Joy2Key's latest version, I think.
