This shot angers me. I cannot believe that somebody would have the gall to submit a joke shot to a contest as serious as Screenshot of the Week. Shame on you for having fun. Fun isn't allowed. I haven't had fun in 10 whole years. Check your privilege.

Geez, no need to get your panties in a twist over a simple screenshot. Besides, comparing pornographic material (which would net you a ban, or at least a severe warning) to something actually legitimately made in ZQuest is quite a stretch. Whether or not it's funny is subjective, and besides, for all you know, nicklegends may have submitted it just to help get the contest rolling, so to keep knocking on it like this would be quite rude in that case, don't ya think? Either way, every screenshot here has at least one vote, so you can't say others "don't even get one single vote." This isn't something that should be ruining your life, it's a simple contest that really has no bearing on anything ever, except maybe egos. I may not agree that the shot should be receiving that many votes, but that's not my decision, nor is it yours.

C'mon, guys, I thought we were past petty complaining about SotW.

I voted for nicklegends for the realism in that shot. Deserts do look like that and I like that.

Really, this contest is for fun, isn't it? I see some great screenshots this week, even though this is my first time competiting. Even though, this is in no way to get angry about some "joke screenshots". Heck, nicklegends's desert shot is realistic, since these are supposed to be wastelands. Let's forget the competiton point and just have fun!!!

I was always under the impression that if you wanted your screenshot to be the best, then you would allow the player to wander through that screenshot during actual gameplay. A screenshot alone has nothing to do with what the player experiences during a ZC Quest. It's just a still-life image, in the same way that memories of your dead relative don't act like a recreation of your entire life with her. Awkward analogy, but it's something.

I voted for demonlink's. Nice shot! I like the general feel of the shot!

Sepulcher's just feels to empty and boring. Alison's ... Meh. I'm not really a fan of pallets without color. Sorry.
I actually might have voted for nicklegends if the cactus hadn't have been there. It completely messes up the balance of the shot. I actually love the idea of an empty desert though.

I voted for Aslion on this SotW. Great job. I really like the look and feel for the area. It feels alive.

About the joke shot thing. I don't see anything wrong with submitting joke screens, as it IS a screen. nicklegends can submit that if he wants to. However, it is disappointing to me that people are actually voting for it. I find SotW to be an honor to be in, and an honor if you win. It makes me think that I am doing something right when I get even one vote. However, things like this take away the prestige, especially if it wins. That's my two cents.

On a more serious note, why should this even bother anyone at all, especially if they aren't in the contest? I know it may get annoying if a joke shot wins when you put so much effort into your screen, but the whole contest really is just for fun, and I for one found the joke shot quite funny (and realistic, too!)

I know I've complained about joke shots in the past, but really if they are in ZC, anything goes.

That's what I think. I know, I'm not in the contest and so I should not care about this. But when I would join the contest with a great picture and then a fun one wins, I would be very disappointed and not motivated to join another contest, because I know, that I never stand a chance against the joke-screens (and this is not the first jokescreen in SotW).
I know that this is a funcontest, but it's also a way, to get a screendesigning-review from other peole. I learned a lot of this contest, because one year ago, I joined sometimes. But what should demonlink14, Sepulcher & Aslion learn this week? "Your screens look as bad as an empty desert? XD

I'm sorry for my "pornographic"-post, this was just one of my jokes. I know that everybody has the right to join the contest with every screenshot, she/he wants. And I don't want to abuse nicklegends, but I didn't get, why so many people have voten for an empty dessert, when there are three real good screens. But everybody has to decide this by her/his own...

Already beat you to the punch, Lord Settra! SotW 340. Indignity meter got filled up so high that the topic was temporarily locked. And I wasn't even winning...Maybe we need to stop accepting joke shots. Tends to lead to general grumpiness.
