I agree, the deadline made me much more productive this last month. What also helped, was betatesters giving feedback in the meantime, that also made me more motivated I think.

 

Anyway, I do think I could make the original deadline, but it would be at the cost of having bugs in the quest. So you guys can expect it in late November instead.

all good man take your time beter late then have bunch of bugs and such in the quest.

Hey guys, an update.

 

Progress on BBDX is on hold as you may have noticed. There are a few reasons for this.

 

The foremost is that I just moved into a new place and I had to do a lot of decorating and moving. Besides that, I got a lot of feedback + made a lot decisions myself causing a lot more work to be done.

 

The good news is that only the final boss needs some work and I'm working on the quest again, so the release should be soon.

Btw i have a question should all testers test all endings and get all triforce pieces? i am now waiting for an update but not taken all triforces for example.....standing just outside the big castle......where i see the text END BETA....

It's not an absolute necessity since I'll test it myself as well, but it's always appreciated. Of course, I can't demand anything from the betatesters. After all, it's not a paid job or such.  :P

I've actually got a question on this. What do the bosses in BoaB DX look like? Are they scripted? Or are they more along the lines of Crystal Crusade's, doing the 2.10 custom boss thing with 2.5 features thrown in?

Hey Russ,

 

The bosses are some of my finest work, especially the ones in the Inverted World. The bosses are made mostly out of FFCs and are able to do some pretty neat movement and attacks, but also sometimes utilize some scripts. There are no fully scripted bosses in the game, because I don't really like those.

 

Maybe I'll make a video about one soon to show more details, we'll see.

Suggestions for scripted bosses because I inspired by Panoply of Calatia

Trinexx

King Octorok

Giant Beamos (maybe)

Nightmare Infinite (leaps around to move)

Swing Beast

Mass Media (like in Panoply of Calatia he cannot be shot while flying due to your shots pass under him) (may use mulitple scripted NPCs for cocoon then moth forms)

Sigma, Sephiroth, and Vaati

 

All others use combos like original game.

 

Edit Sorry, I not seen post about how you didn't like scripted bosses. I still think that jumping and flying above projectiles  (and landing on ground sometimes) for NI and MM are good so may need scripts

Another good idea would be a quick text walkthrough (like a list of all HP and magic upgrades) and what to do next on main path. Or at least a walktrhough on how to enter dungeons and when you need to exit them and come back later.

I think TK is simply so busy in real life, so it's no problem. But I don't deny he's in trouble.

Here's my idea, Link switches player tiles after he gets the Goron Mask. So that he can push normally with the bracelet, but the pushing sprites have him wearing the Goron Mask after he gets it. Same goes for the Twin Dream attack sprites after he gets the Wizzrobe Mask.
