So you know how there is a quest rule that will make the game subtract your money after buying a shop item even if you save and quit while the rupees are draining? We need a rule like that that subtracts your rupees once you enter a Door Repair room even if you F6-Continue or Save and Quit. This falls under the group of NES behavior that people wouldn't intentionally put in their quest.

If you want NES behaviour to appear to be followed, it might not be a bad idea to make the rupees appear to be drained when the string finishes, but actually be subtracted immediately.
(also, the implication that people would purposely put a door repair room in a quest )

I agree that traditional door repair rooms are a bad idea, they punish you for exploring the game's world, instead of rewarding you for it. But there's still the odd time where you may use them as part of a puzzle, I did that years ago.
