Many games trigger our psych...
....the list of feelings, good games can trigger, is long.

No matter if sad, happy, romantic or funny...
What were you're favourite moments.

1. Zelda Games
2. Random Games

...mine were...
1. when the girl from Ikana Canyon got her father back (Mayora's Mask)

2. When the left paddle hit the ball (Pong)

...no, just kidding. can't chose between the Terranigma ending and the "Cast him in"-Scene, from Soul Reaver 1.

Zelda:

- Ocarina kids reunites with his father in ALTTP credits. priceless.

- Replaying NES/SNES/Gameboy Zelda games with my kids and watching them explore and learn. My 6-yo beat the nightmare in Link's Awakening recently and we are working through the dark world in ALTTP.

Other:

1. Sephiroth kills your best character in FF7

2. Garnet cuts her hair in FF9

3. Jowey is a badguy in Suikoden

4. Kain becomes good again in FF4. Hell yes.

Tales of Symphonia had a lot of fairly emotional moments.  Presea's entire arc is pretty depressing.  What happens with Colette early on gets wild when you find out what her deal is.  There's a point a third of the way through the game where you have three major boss battles in a row, each of which is such a plot twist that you'll get whiplash from the first two of them, and it's very jarring. The impact of that is a bit similar to going from Pre-hardmode to Hardmode in terms of the plot.

There's a point near the end of Ultima 7 Part 2 Serpent Isle where a very, very, very main and well-established character has to die in an emotionally charged fashion in order to advance to the end of the game. The event has its own theme and everything.  It tore me apart.  I put that theme in Dreams of Yesterday as a tribute to Dark Nation in the Crypts area.

The scene where Zelda cries after the final boss in Skyward Sword.

The scene with Impa at the end of Skyward Sword.

When Navi leaves Link in Ocarina of Time.

The entire final boss of Mother 3. This one made me cry for DAYS.

Probably a lot more, but these come to mind first.

The entire final boss of Mother 3. This one made me cry for DAYS.

Definitely this one. Reminds me i need to replay Mother 3.

The ending of Twilight Princess, specially everything involving Midna. Made it even more sad because she's my favorite companion in the series.

2. Garnet cuts her hair in FF9

Final Fantasy 9 has a treasure trove of these kinds of moments, to be fair. Spoilers ahead, but, in no particular order, the boat scene with Zidane and Garnet, the epilogue, the bit where Zidane goes back for Kuja, You're Not Alone (in fact, the entire bit on Terra), and a good few others. Hell, even the bit where Zidane and Vivi pee off the wall qualifies. But anyway, not gonna rant too much about Final Fantasy 9 lol. Just love the game.

From Zelda, the ending of Link's Awakening always gets me. Probably the beach scene too (with Marin). Just lovely.
