Earlier today, for whatever reason, my rear mic jack decided it didn't want to recognize microphones anymore. Going into my audio devices, everything that I plug into it is marked as "not plugged in". I've tried plugging my headset into my laptop and it works, and I've tried plugging my old headset into the mic jack and it doesn't recognize that either. All of my drivers are up to date and I've tried restarting my computer. Any solution I have found thus far on google has not worked. I can't use the front jacks either since they're not connected to the motherboard very well.

Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?

The jack itself could be mechanically broken.

Also, see if you can reseat the front microphone connection on the motherboard. That could possibly screw with detection.
