Honestly this very well could be what Zelda 3 on NES would have looked like had Nintendo not scraped this at its concept stage for A Link to the Past. Yes, I am aware that Zelda 3 wasn't more then a concept written on scrape paper but to see an actual variation of it in game form and not some mocked images from a creepypasta like Zelda 3 Prototype is amazing. It was a great idea to change the spite and tile set to something better and you just came out when another visual set. Please renamed this Zelda III: The Fairytale Princess  ;).

Thanks for your nice reply.

I always wanted a visual concept, including influences of the first three titles.
(more or less, the ZELDA III, that never happend)
I thought about calling it "Zelda 2 1/2" ;)

At the moment I'm still struggling with the last Dungeon (3rd) of my 3-Level demo,
while I find solutions for the full version (5 OW Maps, 9 Dungeons + Final Boss Stage).

The first version is gonna be released in german language.
I still need help, to translate the message string table (more than 700 strings (a lot of lore), by now),
for the english version.

Link & Zelda: Panoply of Calatia is very worthy of being considered a true Zelda 3. You might get some inspiration from it. Epona is ride able in it as well once you get a certain item.

I like the look you are going for. It reminds me somewhat of the aesthetic of Sierra's old point & click games like King's Quest.
