OK, I want to make an update to ZNR 2.0 Easy Mode.  As everyone knows, I pull a Double Dragon 2 where you have to play Normal Mode.  I had constraints at the time when ZNR 1.0 was made where I had to make you have a new save file, but that is obviously very unacceptable in today's ZC and I would like to rectify that problem now that I know inventory can be wiped.

 

So here's what I want to do:

1.  You hit the "Ones Who Does Not Play Normal Mode Cannot Enter" room and the message obviously plays.

2.  You get zap warped to Normal Mode from there when you step into the room.

3.  You get inventory wiped.  You keep your Rupees.  That's it.

4.  Hearts would either have to be reduced, or be capped at 16 so you couldn't get any more.

 

I think this would be a welcome addition for most people to this quest.  How do I do this?

Has some bugs that need to be ironed out, but here's a short demo of what happens if you get to Lv. 9 with the proposed script.

Posted a project forum so people can test out the fix themselves and post an opinion.  Rather find out it's negative or positive now rather than release it and get the kickback.

Level 2 is where Level 8 is in the First Quest. Burning doesn't work, need to find a new way to open the bush....

I have ZC2.55 and when I start this quest, Link doesnt even appear on the screen.   I am on a screen that looks like where Level 9 is in the original 2nd quest, but Link isnt there, and the game doesnt respond to keyboard input

Also, which alpha/nightly?  FWIW, I've extensively tested it in Alpha 92 and Alpha 95 9/5/2021 Nightly's.

I reiterate, Alpha 92 is REQUIRED to play ZNR 2.0 and 2.1 and Alpha 95 Nightly 4 is RECOMMENDED. I can't make this any more clear. Please check your versions!

I'm guessing the bow and arrow is needed for those spots? The problem is where is the bow because I bombed and burned every possible wall and bush around. The only clue I have left is level one with that room with the Digdoggor on the way to the actual dungeon boss but I don't have the flute. I even bombed and walked to every room's walls and pushed most of the blocks so the room with the digdogger is all that left. Is it possible to point me to where the Bow is because I need to progress to level two?

No, the Bow and Arrow isn't used there.  The Bow is in Level 5.  Try new ways to open that bush.

 

Also a note:
 

I'm discontinuing support on ZNR 1.0 and 2.0 unless you're using an OS previous to Windows 10.

 

Since you're still early on, I'd highly suggest upgrading to ZNR 2.1 so the restart will be minimal:

Even in final beta it offers a better experience and after you get done with Easy Mode you can now complete the game, which you couldn't do in ZNR 1.0 and 2.0 due to limitations of the old engine.
