I am making an enemy in my 2.5 quest that breaths fire. I want the fire to go through solid combos and I want it to shoot in any direction. Kinda like a Fire Gleeok or Gohma 4. However, the custom enemy I'm making is only 1x1 tile. If there is a way I can have that enemy shoot flames like Fire Gleeok or Gohma 4, what are correct attributes I need to make...without scripting of course.

Set enemy weapon to "flame" in the enemy editor. You can use that to clone out most enemy properties.

And set the shot type to "breath".

Ok, so those I just set. I tested it out, but now the enemy is not shooting anything. I can't see or hear any fire breathing.

It also needs it's halt rate higher than 0. It will only shoot when it's halting. Does it not shoot even though it halts?

A good idea is to start by cloning enemies. You like octoroks, but wish there was one that shot wind at you? Go look at a regular octorok, copy all of its attributes to a new enemy, then change the weapon type. Doing this will give you a good idea of which attributes do what.

You can copy an enemy in the Enemy Editor by highlighting the enemy you want to copy, then hold [, double click on the enemy, then go to a new enemy slot (z###) and click on it, and hold ] and double-click on it to paste it.

Really? I didn't know that! I've been doing all my custom enemies from scratch!

Yes, it is a pretty obscure way to copy enemies and if it's mentioned in the ZC documentation, then it's well hidden. I would approve of making it more obvious in a new version. I used to manually copy enemies for a while too before I knew about that trick.

Good thing I read the ZQuest documentation thoroughly before I even started making a quest. Or else I would have had SO much more trouble.... ;)

Avataro,

The Halt Rate was already set to "3," so I'm not sure why it's still not shooting.

Hmmmm, could you post a screenshot of the enemy in the enemy editor? I don't know what else could work right now and I don't have the time to see ZQuest right now, so hopefully I can figure it out that way... :)
