Boss rush is common challenge, where player needs to defeat all existing bosses in a row. If a quest designer wants to include this to his quest, what is the best reward for finishing it?

I went with bragging rights but I think money or a powerful item would be fine too. I do think that boss rushes should at least be some flavor of optional because there's a lot of people that just don't enjoy them.
Another thing to consider is whether or not the bosses in your game are balanced right for a boss rush scenario. When there's one boss that takes longer or feels less engaging than the others, this is psychological torture in an endurance scenario. Echoes of Wisdom has this problem where one boss takes three times as long as all the others due to lengthy stalling phases where you can't hurt it. And they have you fight this in a timed boss rush. Terrible. Hollow Knight also has a similar issue, but not as bad. Uumuu is just a weird outlier of a boss that's a really passive and RNG reliant fight in a game where everything else has consistent attack opportunities. I don't think anybody would say that fight's the worst part of that game's monstrous hour long boss rush, but it's certainly a pace killer.

And imagine after that another boss that can, at random, execute instant-kill attacks that can be, in rare edge cases, completely unavoidable. Shovel Knight, mandatory.

I could go for the bragging rights and the difficulty-reducing item. You could also do an item that is required to finish the game 100%, such as a non-required secret-triggering item, for things such as for heart pieces.
