Doing what few have done before...making Classic look good.

"A generic DoR dungeon dried out, so I took a photo of it."

Once you leave the forest it's time to clime the mountain, and please do not comment on this being a jpg.

I think CC will probably win, but seeing as this screen is 10000X better than any other overworld screen I've seen by Billy, I'm quite impressed.
Nice one
I've started testing that HvT beta, just so you know

CastChaos - looks awesome, my vote goes here. Nice looking shot.
Billy Ronald - screen looks good, but pretty average. Nothing in particular makes me think "Screenshot of the week" in this.

and it looks pretty basic too, and just cramped. bunch of little trees, oddly shaped mountains...
CC - release those walls already >.>
reminds me of LttP, which is bad I guess. I dunno, good shot. vote
Billy - eh, basic. too many of the same bush. very linear trees at the bottom. And the grass doesn't look to great on that mountain

I like what you've done with this, but it's too dominated by mountains. About 50% of that screen is the same tile.
CastChaos- 7/10
The walls look a lot better in this shot because they aren't going everywhere crazy. Good shot. Very hazardous dungeon, I take it?
billy ronald- 6/10
Average. Also, it's a .jpg.

Very good detail for a classic style screenshot. Good effort for what you are working with.
CastChaos - 7/10
One of those rooms that make you think. Pretty good for what you intended the shot to be all about.
billy ronald - 5/10
It doesn't feel the most natural for an outdoor shot with the tools that you have, but you continue to get better from what I can see. But hey, it isn't bad at all for any standard type of quest. Better ground detail, less linear ledges, and trees that don't line up single file would definitely improve this screen.
My tie-breaking vote goes to the person that I thought took the bigger risk: zmaster

CastChaos: Looks pretty good. It's a lot better than my DoR dungeons look.
Billy Ronald: Nice use of PTUX. Although the color on that ember tree doesn't look quite right.

CastChaos: It's somehow eye-pleasing...
billy ronald: Not as bad as the previous ones. But makes me apathetic towards Pure.
CC - release those walls already >.>

I thought about releasing them, but I figured most people would whine for its simpleness, even though it was intentional. Also, if it reminds you for aLttP, then it must be a maximum greatness...
CastChaos - 7/10

Yes, room interaction FTW. You even can read that sign on the middle and the "chest" is also not pocket dirt...

... if I can look at a classic shot and think "wow", that alone deserves my vote. Well done.

Nice variation of the classic tileset, and nice way to setup the tiles.
CastChaos:
Love those dungeon walls!
and the way you setup the traps and the spikes gives a nice LTTP dungeon feel.
billy ronald:
Sorry to say but...I think it needs more detail
My vote goes to CastChaos today
