So Ive been brainstorming for a little while on this idea, and I randomly decided to start messing around with it to see if it will work.

Im creating a minigame that will be located in the Milk Bar of Vari Chasm, as an alternative method to make money. Since money is an uncommon drop in this quest, it seems necessary to give some other method of obtaining money besides slaying a bunch of monsters. The minigame is a card game that I dont have a solid name for yet. Something like "One-Card Flop".

So here's how the minigame works:

- There are a total of 16 cards that can appear
- There are four colors of cards. The colors are Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow
- For each color, there are cards with numbers 1-4 on them (i.e. Blue 1, Blue 2, Blue 3, Blue 4)

Step #1: High or Low

When you start the game, the first thing you will do is decide whether you want to make a high bet or a low bet.

- Low bet costs 2 gems
- High bet costs 5 gems

After deciding on your bet, 1 card is taken from the deck and laid face-down.

Step #2: Placing your bet

After the card is laid on the playing field, you will make an attempt to guess what the card is. From here, you have two choices to bet on:

- NUMBER: You will attempt to guess whether the card has an even or odd number on it. You have a 1/2 chance to win or lose. If you win, you will earn twice the amount that you bet (4 for Low, 10 for High).
- COLOR: You will attempt to guess what color the hidden card is. Choices are Blue, Red, Yellow, and Green. This gives a 1/4 chance of winning, and the reward will be x5 times the amount of your bet (10 for Low, 25 for High)

I think that sums it up pretty well. Keep in mind that the max amount of money in the quest is 99, so thats why it may not seem like a lot of gems at first. I was experimenting with some of the tiles today, and I think I did a pretty good job with the cards (even though they are a rip off of the carpet tiles, lol).

But if anyone gets to this point and is still reading this, Ive had one question that I need to find the answer to... How can I make sure the game checks that you have enough money to make a bet?

I think color guess should yield 4 to 1 win, not 5 to 1 (8 for low bet, 20 for high).

That was my initial thought. However, giving a x5 reward is more of an incentive to have the player consider placing a bet on a color, since there is a greater chance of losing. If it was x4, you could earn the same amount by placing two bets on a number instead. It will be the same odds to win 2 number bets compared to 1 color bet, but theres more room for error as well. So logically there isnt much of a benefit to a color bet if it was x4.

This is just how I picture it

What about also add an "always lose" Black Zero cards. I think, gambling games should not be profitable to player to discourage kids from evolving RL gambling. Z1 gambling minigame showed this really well.
