These are some 4 color tiles I've been fooling around with. The screen itself was thrown together in about 2 minutes.

Can't really complain, good screen composition, though I can't say I was ever a fan of that palette. Not that people shouldn't use it, of course, if you don't mind it, then by all means continue using it.

 

Avataro - Not a whole lot going on here. It works for its purpose, but there's not a lot to look at.

 

grayswandir - Voted here, the tiles look pretty neat, though Link doesn't quite fit in with them. The grass also seems a bit plain, but otherwise, the tiles look neat, so does the screen composition.

a30502355: I personally don't like the inverted colour scheme (green ground/white trees). Burning Tree? Is Link meant to be in a tree? It screams more of a forest. I have nothing really else to say. Good screen for a quest, not contest material.

 

Avataro: Not really much to show, but I like how you added a ship to your village. Depending on how flexible the ship tiles are, it really feels that you didn't have much freedom to design and personalize the ship. Would be cool if the ship took you to a important area later in the game.

 

EDIT: I'd also work on the subscreen frames a little more. It looks good overall, but the frames look a bit bland. No worries though, this isn't affecting my opinion on the screen.

 

Also tileset? Custom?

grayswandir: I adore most of the graphics but the bridge and dead tree look odd. Also it's a bit bland on the ground. Also the southern edge could annoy the player since they have barely any walking space. This came second because of these three minor issues that are ruining the otherwise perfect screen for me.

Thanks everyone. I'm just glad I could help get sotw going! The tileset is not custom, Shane. It's an old tileset from the database.

 

Grayswandir, these graphics look like they would work really great for a quest. I think the bridghe looks alright, but the dead tree looks kind of oddly shaped.

All of them were amazing this time, but after long thought, I voted for Avataro's. I just really like the ship!

I like the graphics of grayswandir's screen, although I wonder if more ground details are available.  If so, it would have taken more than 2 minutes for sure.

 

My favorite goes to Avataro.  Very nice ship down to every detail.

I like the sort of flat pastel sticker feel to grayswandir's shot. I don't care if it only took two minutes to make; it looks good!
