TheRock: It's a fairly good map, but the colors clash horribly in some parts imo. I'm not a fan of how the sand(?), mountains and paths blend with the blue of the water and trees.

Eddy: Not a fan of the water area in the bottom left, seems pretty empty. Maybe add some things into the water? Good classic map otherwise.

Hubydweyer: One of the better uses of GB I've seen lately. Great map.

Joel: I'm liking the colors of this map as well as your use of the mountains. Another good classic map.

Avataro: You have a distinct style with the classic set, but I can't quite figure out why. I like the map.

I voted for Joel this week.

Dunno what else I can do there honestly lol. I'm going for a very Z1-style map, so minimal detail is kinda the idea. I might add more islands or something though, could make for some good overworld secrets and such, and could probably fill up some space in the water.

Hubydweyer, is the bright water ice to walk on with the waves not moving or so? If it is just water with a brighter color I think I don't like it too much. I also wonder if the big leaves in the water (can't remember what they were called) have to be so bright, it looks a bit odd to me. Anyway, I think your map is awesome!

Wow, what a good turnout. I planned on entering, but I forgot, obviously.

TheRock:

Almost voted for this one. I really like the palette, and I've always been a fan of the blue/ purple trees. This looks like a swamp I'd make, if I used GB. Second place, for me.

Eddy:

If less is more, than this is a lot! I love it. It's a simple Classic map that is very reminiscent of the first quest. I voted for this one, but if I may offer one critique, you should make some areas use different palettes. I'm not sure how authentic you're going for here, but a little color variety goes a looooong way in Classic. Still, good work.

Hubydweyer:

This one is third for me. I really like how good only 4 colors can look. It's a testament to how well designed the GB graphics really are. This looks like it could have been in a real GB game.

Joelmacool:

See how just a slight palette swap can bring new life to an old classic? Also, those 64x64 tress are great, who ever made those is obviously the best person on Earth.

Avataro:

Not a bad map, but compared to the others, it's not as breathtaking. By looking at it, I can tell it would play fine, but the large chunks of mountains look a bit bland when looked at as a map. Again, it's not horrible, but it's not the best this month either :P

I voted Avataro because his map has nice colouring and shape to it. Eddy is a close second, the Z1-esque design is nice here.

Also Joel is that my village? "Enahss Village"?

Bright water is swimmable

The transition upwards from the darker to the brighter water looks to me like the bright water is a bit higher than the rest, so I thought it could be ice swimming on top.

Anyway, I looked it up again and if you follow the bright water down from the cave to the sand there is this one combo of dark water in the northwestern corner of the sand between sand and bright water and I think this doesn't look good. I must have had that spot zoomed in, it is the only one where the bright water irritates me.

I voted for Eddy. His map looks very authentic to NES design. :)

I imagine using different palettes would be a cool idea, but since I'm going for a very authentic Z1-style map here I think that would kinda destroy what I'm going for IMO. Thanks for the suggestion though, maybe I could do something with it in other projects of mine that use classic (or variants of it).
