I've gotten a few questions as PMs, so I figured I'd post a thread here. I hope it doesn't just take up space ... Anyway, if you need help, or have found bugs that need squashing, please post here.

The most recent quest file can be found here.

I haven't gotten stuck for too long yet, but I've beaten this game up through level three and I want to say, I'm enjoying it so far. Good old-fashioned exploration-based gameplay and nonlinearity; I ended up finding level three and two before level one, and beat level two first. And I especially like how these things are less difficult to figure out than in a typical classic-styled quest, so it feels pretty fair. It's very neat so far, there are a few little things here and there that are questionable (such as some tiles that are supposed to be overhead not being overhead, or the bosses simply being Zelda 1 bosses), but it's otherwise very solid and an excellent first quest. Hopefully, the rest of the quest holds up as well. icon_smile.gif

I may try something more complex with the bosses in the future ... I think when I first started I decided not to do anything too complicated because I didn't think I could pull it off, but I'm confident I could now.

I'm curious what you mean about the overhead tiles. Do you mean the tree tops, or is there something I'm not thinking of? Just to be clear, I'm very accepting of constructive criticism and just want to make future versions of the game better.

Treetops, backs of houses, and in particular the rope bridge on the mountain; Link is walking on top of the bridge entirely. It looks kind of odd. That's really all I mean. icon_razz.gif

The Sattelite: Ah, I see what you mean. Layers on things like treetops always look funny to me though ... Throwing a boomerang or other weapon from the front shows a really jagged tile break. ... Oh, wait. As I'm typing this, I suddenly realize I've been doing it wrong the whole time and there's an easy fix. Thanks for the help!

Here's a slightly more detailed answer on the Candle/Level 2 thing:

I have found level 1 & 2, the white sword, ladder, bracelet, slingshot and whistle. I found level 5 but it's to early to go there. Can you give me a hint in which areas level 3 and 4 are located. And do I have everything I need to get there.
