It's the second option on the first tab (Data) of the item editor, right under whirlwind direction. Not sure it'll do anything, but it's worth a shot.

EDIT: Otherwise, I'd say try upgrading to 2.50 or 2.50.1, but that might cause other bugs and inconsistencies... But, once you got them all hammered out, it would probably run smoother than 2.10 does, since 2.10 is such an old version.

I think 2.50 2C1 (The one saffith posted about recently) seems kinda buggy (using the hammer in the water anyone?).

I'm trying to make this a 2.1 game only. I just have no clue what is making wrong warp. Is there a way to just turn off whistle warping in general? Even when I never set one, the wind still appeared.

Yeah, under DMaps, there's an option that says "Allow whistle whirlwinds", if you make sure that's unchecked (Which means whirlwinds will never appear from the whistle on that map, like in Z1 dungeons) on every map , no warping. Theryan mentioned it on the last page.

It's been ages since I've used 2.1, it won't run on my Windows 7 PC. It flat-out won't work on my PC, so I can't remember, but it was either there, or in the quest rules.

It may just be me, but I don't see it any one of those. Nothing about whistle whirlwinds.

Yeah... It should be under the "Screen Flags" tab of DMaps. If it's not there, I have no idea. Sorry. Why would you want to restrict it to 2.10, anyways? It's so damned buggy!

yeah, that's not in 2.1 it seems :/  I started my game in 2.1 and kinda want to finish it with what I had. Outdated sure, but I consider it the last of an era for me. My next game will definitely be in 2.5 though.

Well, that doesn't seem like it's a good idea if the game is unplayable as a result.

well everything runs fine on 2.5. It's just that one whistle warp that doesn't want to work.

Ah, ok, well after EXTENSIVE research (seriously, i've been googling like a fury, for this whole conversation, I finally found the answer in an old armageddongames thread from 2006), I was reminded that the only way to turn off the whistle whirlwind is to either set a whistle->stairs flag on every screen, OR set every DMap type to dungeon, cuz the whistle only works on "Overworld" maps.

well turning the overworld to a dungeon wouldn't be any good. but ah man, adding that flag to every screen is a real hassle.

Those are your only options. Well, those, removing the whistle completely, or upgrading ZC. If none of those sound appealing, I don't envy you.

Wait... Are you making this in 2.10 and PLAYING it in 2.50?

well I guess flags it is....eh....and yeah I'm playing in 2.5 just to make sure if people play it on the new build, everything works for it. Although I don't see how this could affect whistle warps.
