In DMap settings set a different "level" for each dungeon.

Each boss key, map, and compass is assigned to the 'level' of dmap you're currently in, so if you get the map in level 1, every dmap with level no. 1 will also act as if you have the map.

Aye, set every level to a unique ID, in the DMaps editor. If you have caves, or houses, put them on a suitably high level, where they could never overlap your dungeon level designations (e.g. 50, 51).

Overworld DMaps are generally set to level == 0, but if you want special keys for them, start numbering them, likewise, at 100 or so.

You set all of these level IDs in Quest->DMaps, inside the ZQuest editor.

P.S. The level values for dungeons affect the following:

1. Map, Compass, and Boss Key for the level.

2. Triforce Piece ID, and where it appears on the Triforce gauge (on the subscreen).

3. Level-specific small keys: These keys only work in the level in which the player collects them, as in newer Zelda games, and unlike in Z1 on the NES.

The count of level-specific keys is separately tracked, and displayed on the subscreen.

4. Boss is defeated: Each level can have only one true boss, that you can flag as the dungeon boss--never to return after death.

5. Whistle warp destinations.

Be sure to set your levels with values starting at 1, and ending at 9! If you have fewer than nine levels, then remember to set the Big Triforce rule, and set it to a 3+1 level quest, or a 6+1 level quest.

The default is 8+1 levels.
