Well, for those on the west coast, it happens tonight. For those on the east coast, it happens early tomorrow morning.

...At least, I think that's what I heard. But, yay, happy solstice.

Actually it's the other way around. We're 3 hours ahead.

Winter rules - now get me some snow already! It's sure cold enough (below freezing outside) but not a cloud in the sky nor a flake on the ground here.

mmmhm. I'm on Long Island, New York, and winter is ... erratic. The temperature can quite happily jump from 60°F to 20°F in less than half a week if it had sufficient cause to do so. The shores tend to make most of the snow from the northwest into rain and sleet, while many of the storms coming from the south give us the hardest snow of all. Nobody truly knows if the calcium chloride they're buying will be used.

But anyway, happy winter! icon_kawaii.gif

Hey! I'm in southern Mississippi right now! Of course, I'll leave for home tomorrow, but that's beside the point.

Heh. Never here either. I'm wearing a T-Shirt right now. I never would've dreamed growing up in NY that I would ever spend a Christmas outside in a T-Shirt, but here I am. icon_smile.gif

For me, winter solstice simply represents that the cold weather and snow are here to stay for quite awhile. It is usually until some point in early April, but the worst of the snow and cold usually comes around now and January. This is mainly due to the lake effect snow off of Lake Erie, caused by the lake's temperature not cooling all the way down yet. Luckily I don't get it as bad as the suburbs and towns further south in the area do. All this snow is certainly great for the ski country down there though.

I live in the southern part pf Texas. I have seen snow 1 time in my life, It was amazing. It didn't build up on the ground just on the cars. That 1 time a side.

I hate winter. Summer is where it's at.
