I really think this will be better, the Allegro library really sucks IMO. Plus, if we ever do that DS port everyone's buzzed about for a while it'd be a bit easier considering this probably isn't as resource hungry as Allegro.

The DS Port won't happen for reasons besides resources, but I agree: switching from Allegro is a smart move.
