Not voting since I'm in this one.

Moosh- A very bright and vibrant screen. My only real complaint is the fact that the shadows make it really hard to make out parts of the screen.

TheManHimself- Is this a separate screen just for dialogue? I can see that a lot of effort has been put into setting this up.

In any case, good job by all.

Moosh: There's a serious problem with this screen. You used the one area in the whole dang labyrinth that doesn't have any skeletons. What were you thinking!?

TheManHimself: See this guy here, this guy gets it. Loving the look, the dark humor, and the concept of this dialogue system all around intrigues me. My vote went here.

ywkls: I like the multi layer over/under you have going on here, but I feel the perspective is a bit off. The way the water's going over the railings just doesn't look right. I think you should've cut holes in it for them when layering it, even if that'd be a bit more work.

For Moosh's screen...I really like Shaded Woods as an area. (The Lifted Labyrinth is a really cool map in general, or at least the parts of it I've gotten to see so far, and anyone who hasn't seen it should go play Yuurand right now.) I already know that in the context of Yuurand, this screen is on the border of Shaded Woods and another area. But as a contest entry, without taking that knowledge into account, I don't think the reds and greens on the left are doing this screen any favors.

TheManHimself's screen looks pretty incredible for Classic. I'm staying away from the gallows humor, but I think it's pretty funny.

ywkls's screen is almost perfect, the multiple levels is something I don't see done much in ZC and it works really well. I really like the little details like having the different floor levels be different colors I like the main colors in the palette, in general. My only problem is that the cyan and beige tiles clash really badly with the rest of the screen--both the colors, and the fact that they don't look underwater like the rest of the level they're on. (At least, I think it's underwater? The adjacent walls being completely dry even at the base is throwing me off a little, but I only noticed that after Moosh's post.) I'm still voting here, because the general effect is still really cool aside from that.

Moosh - I'm a huge fan of your palette choices in general, and the gold and bronze vibes hard. The simplicity of the tilework reminds me of a high-quality Rogue-like graphics mod, or a high-quality NES RPG, if that makes any sense at all. I haven't had the chance to play any of the Yuurand quests yet, but if they are all as inspired as this, then I'm all in.

Ywkls -  I've always been into over-under shenanigans, and one of the things I always look at when I'm making a screen is having multiple ways to traverse a screen. I can see myself getting lost in this dungeon. Just one note: I'm not sure if the perspective of the pillars holding up each tier works, your screen probably wouldn't lose much if you got rid of them --- for these GBC-style shots, less is more!

Himself/Myself - I was going to submit this for the previous SotW, but I wanted to put up some more recent work, since I think my classic tileset style has improved since I made this screen (This was the third screen I had made after coming back to Zquest after like 15 years). I had other submissions queued up, but Moosh wanted skeletons, so I obliged. Each dialogue option is animated, and I really should have taken the time to make a GIF of it, but I was sort of too busy to get around to it last week. I know that the perspective on the trees is a little wonky, and I'm trying to figure out if I want to make some scaled versions of the trees so the depth of the screen is more convincing: honestly though, maybe having things look a little "off" fits the classic aesthetic; I haven't really made up my mind on that yet.

Oh god, I've gotten too used to looking at each screen in this labyrinth as part of a larger whole and now that tiny patch of green is burning a hole in my eye. This was actually a problem when making the area and I'd just completely forgotten about it.

Must control temptation to change vote to myself to keep the vote tied.

But in all seriousness, I've never seen this level of participation in SOTW.

Nor have I seen a race which has been this close.

For real. The competition is fierce this week. Both your and Moosh's shot are top-tier.
