I did set it up! It's in the first subscreen. It has the sprite of the Z1 Mirror Shield.

Yes but your overworld map is using Active (New, B)

Edit - Oh WOW! I forgot to set up the right subscreen! It works perfectly! I'm so sorry for all the trouble I've caused!

Is there a way for it to appear in Link's hand, but not be held up until he presses the shield button?

Thank you so much for the script, btw. Works perfectly. icon_smile.gif

Sure. Just set different LTM's (Link Tile Modifiers) for the dummy and active shields (yep, that's what I did in PoS).

What do you set to which? The hand up for the real shield, and for the dummy the hold on arm/back (Like PoV)?

Do you want to have Link shieldless when the dummy is not equipped? That would be a little more complicated but still doable.

If not, set the Dummy LTM to shield-on-back/arm and the Active LTM to the offset between that and the shield-in-hand tiles.

Ah, I got it. I had to set them to the same number.

And yes, I actually did want it like that. Would you be able to?

Actually, that's harder than I realized. I can try...

Only if you can. I can live without it. icon_smile.gif

Plus, you rewrote an entire script for me. I can't be thankful enough for that!

This is what i thought was not possible. Is there a way to detect in zscript when an item is equipped or in other words set to A or B? If there is i would find this very useful.

I was also very interested in the UsingItem() function but that didn't seem to work in your first edit of gbshield script. Is there a specific reason it failed in that case? The use of an Item Script seems more efficient(and simpler) but I could think of ways in which such a function could be very useful. Do you know of any scripts that take advantage of the function?

GetEquipmentA() [and B] will do that. But I don't like hard-coding item values... and handling the LTMs is the real tricky part.

So to be clear, this is a no-go?

As far as I know, yes it is.

Unless we used a different method like drawing the shield on top of Link.

A test quest, if you want to submit the new script to the database.
