~ Seasons Greetings! ~

Posted ImagePosted Image

Download: Linked Seasons v1.1 (qst), Linked Seasons v1.1 (zgp)
(if starting a new quest, use the qst template. If patching an existing quest started in an earlier build of the tileset, import the zgp as a Graphics Pack. You'll need to manually add in Link's animations and slash misc sprite)
New features:
- chests
- red/blue barrier switches (script not included)
- generic on/off crystal switch
- lock block
- spikes in/out
- unique entrance/exit doorway (south side only)
- new mountains
- optional bs zelda animation
- expanded Link tiles (slashing, jumping, diving)
- sword slash tiles
- large shadows
- new heart container/hcp tiles
- new stepladder

Fixes:
- aquamentus' palette flashes a bit better
- fixed water shadow misalignment
- better smashed pots
- sword beams have better contrast against winter ground
- enemies no longer walk into caves

There are still plenty of other inclusions people have suggested in the works, so don't worry I haven't forgotten about you! This is just a small update to add in some lacking functionality.

Happy questing!

I hate to be that guy, but I liked the old mountains better. I liked the rugged approach (no pun intended) because it allowed people to mimic Classic mountain layouts. It allowed for seemingly complex mountain layouts with minimal tiles. That's an aspect I value in a tileset like this. I spend too much time using advanced tilesets just trying to figure out where all the tiles are :P. I suggest still keeping the old mountains in the set (to be fair, I haven't downloaded it yet to look). I don't like the borders, or the horizontal grade of the rock texture personally on the new ones in the second shot. It looks like it is trying too hard to fit in with a certain ZC standard, which I personally think we should consider moving away from*

Other than my mountain rant, I like the other additions mentioned. More dungeon objects was one of the things I wanted to see most, so kudos on that. Even with my stylistic complaints, I still think the actual tile work is top notch. :)

*Not all mountains need to work like GB mountains.

The old mountains are still in the set. These are just an alternate type for people that want something more GB-looking.

Also, just realised some dungeon palettes were incomplete. That's fixed now, so redownload if you downloaded this before now.

Just downloaded it. I will let you know what I think once I get around testing it some other day. I like the stuff I see in the screenshots and agree with all of the fixes you have listed. Especially expanding the Link animations seemed very important to me.

Looks nice, I might use this in my next quest if it isn't to hard to use.

This tileset is open-source or not?

No, it's more like "shared source". You're welcome to add/remove whatever you want for your own quests, but you can't redistribute the set or use the tiles outside ZC. If you're making a new tileset and want to use LS tiles just ask first and get the ok. In most cases I'll say yes, provided there's a disclaimer in the tileset itself that prohibits use outside of ZC. If you want to use the tiles for your own non-ZC games you'll have to buy a license.
