So I see a lot of cut scenes in quests where the npc's move around. I would like to know the easiest means of doing this, as its crucial to the beginning of my quest. thanks

I would like to learn this too. I believe it might be possible without scripts, too.

Free Form Combos (FFCs) can be used to allow combos to move across the screen (an east walking NPC e.g.), and change into other moving/or still combos (a stationary or north walking NPC e.g.) when they intersect with "changer" combos.
You can have several movements in one screen, and if you want to get fancy you can then warp to another identical screen after a certain time to have more movements. Also, you can hide Link so he's not visible, and if you use scripts you can disable Link's actions, buttons and movements on said screens (I can share some with you if you want).
This tutorial should get you started.
