I null'd cause I'm undecided. I feel like any time Link talks in a quest, it feels a bit odd cause he is mute canonically save for two instances in the entire series outside of grunts and yells (He says "Come on!" in TWW, and says "I found the mirror." in Z2). I guess it is really just up to the quest maker. I generally find silent protags to be kind of lame though in general. Like.. it's really hard to imagine in universe them just never talking. I know you are supposed to "fill in the blanks" but it kinda feels a bit lazy at times? Maybe not lazy, but just weird.
I've been replaying Chrono Trigger (to be clear, still as awesome as last time I played it!) and I've found Crono's silence to be quite weird. I forget if it bothered be the last time, but this time there are a few times where I thought it was kind of bizarre that he didn't say anything. Even if it's part of his character (his mother says Magus is 'another quiet one' if you introduce her to him, implying he doesn't really talk much) it's kind of hard to get attached, or even learn anything about the guy without him saying anything. I mean, he does... do a big important character thing near the end (no spoilers here) that implies a heroism instinct, but even so.
Just to be clear, still love the game, and all the other characters are amazingly well written (which makes the silent protaginist even weirder, tbh),
Also, speaking of BotW, iirc it was implied Link talked to Zelda before the horse memory cutscene. So I think he also talks in English-language BotW! (and that's even if you're ignoring all the selection choices )
