Hello everyone!  I have several things to announce here, so bear with me.

 

We'll be having a Winter Expo on January 12th

That's right!  It's the official return of the expo.  Unfortunately, we've been forgetting it and putting it off, so rather than rushing things for a Fall Expo, we opted to go for a Winter Expo instead.  With this extra time, we're hoping to have a new system to house the expo on the main site.  Submissions will be due January 8th.  For anyone who doesn't know what the expo is, you can read up in the announcement for the last one.

 

Hosted Quest Project Forums will be shut down January 1st

HQPFs have been with PureZC since the early days, and tons of people have had the benefit of being able to use them.  Unfortunately, with the creation of the Quest Project system on the site, HQPFs have become a thing of the past.  Since the current HQPFs don't seem to be utilized much, the staff have decided to phase them out.  The current ones will stay open until January 1st.  HQPF owners, if you need help migrating your project to the site, let a staff member know.

 

Member Specific is now a subforum of General Discussion

This is actually how it used to be, so we're just returning to the older days.  Neither MS nor GD got too much activity, so this change simply made sense.

 

Consecutive Posts will be merged from now on

From now on, if you make two posts back-to-back within 30 minutes of each other, they will be merged together.  We've noticed an increase in double posts, so we decided to make this change.  If you need to have a second "saved" post in a thread (such as reserving a second post in an LP thread), please contact a staff member and they can help you out.

And if I understand correctly, the merging is done automatically by the site, correct? Or do the administrators do it?

Quite a shame, these are the forums I look at the most, so it was nice to be able to see that last post from both of them at once, oh well, I guess you can't always get what you want. Also, "made since"...was that a typo? Shouldn't it say "made sense"? o.o

No, the change was made since 6:45PM CST. (Yes, it was a typo.)

Question about the merging. Will this still occur in cases of when we hit the character limit as Saffith Did when doing his ZScripting Tutorial?

I'm guessing that again, only quests are allowed for showcase in the expo? There should be a dropbox for expo entries somewhere.

Nice, how I have a date to shoot for to show off Chapters of Enova.    Thanks for bringing it back.  Though this is the first time that it won't be a Spring or Fall one.

So, I've got until the day after my birthday for quest production, huh? That's a lot longer than I was expecting, so I've got plenty of time to make this thing freaking awesome before I let everybody know about it. I can't wait!

So basically everyone uploads stuff about there Quests all around the same time for everyone else to look at?

 

Well im working on a quest now (Un-announced )  and it should be finished sometime near Christmas... more or less...

But say i was still working on it come time January... could i use this Expo    as like a E3 booth? where i show of my brand new shiny quest ?

Yeah, think of the Expo as an E3 for ZC. For example, here's the archived Fall 2012 Expo. Basically, everybody submits a sample of what they're working on, so that people can see all the up-and-coming quest projects all in one place and give feedback on them.
